I like Pietersen's all round abilities but he is not overly threatening as a spinner and has gone for a couple of runs as well.

Are there any other spinners that are more threatening?

Tahir was smashed when in Australia.

Don't be shy..............still 18/10 available on Aus to win...............B)

SA don't seem to know what to do when their bowlers are attacked...................:(

Biggest weakness in the SA side is the lack of a quality spinner - could be one of the reasons that Smith elected to bowl first - more trust in his batsmen to chase a target than in his bowlers to bowl a side out in the 4th innings - as it stands however, it was the wrong move (td)

i cannie remember when we had a quality spinner or at least a match winner in our side... we will NEVER develop world class spinners unless we swallow our pride and employ someone who has performed in such a position at the highest level.

i tell you what, i saw a few balls keeping low early in the aussies innings which is a concern as we may have to bat last on the 5th day trying to save the test match.

looking forward to tomorrows play...(tu)

I haven't watched a lot today, but if the pitch is already starting to misbehave, it makes the decision to bowl first even stranger :S

Only chance we have to win is to strike ealy tomorrow morning and get them all out by lunch - then we'll have to bat very well for 2 days and hope to reduce them to less than 200 in their second innings - I agree we preferably do not want to bat last and if we do, not for more than 2 sessions

I agree 100% Johan Botha was the best spinner we had for years but they sent him packing
