Too many rumors in racing - Just look at the lovely first class info we are given on the Multi choice issue - Why can't those that make their money off us just treat us like adults and tell us the truth?

If that is true the I humbly apologize to the Jockeys for thinking they had a hidden agenda when lodging their protest - Inquiry surely now has zero, zip and NO chance of success!!

Greyville had a problem with the turf at the end of 2012 and begininng of 2013. Why would this happen a second year in a row. Surely they would learn from their mistakes? :S

Greyville was closed pending the outcome of the enquiry. The grass lifted is not what they raced on and where the problems were that the jockeys complained about. The lifted grass was past the post by the sounds of it.

you would think that horse racing being a multi million rand industry, would employ, seek advice from experts to look after their prized asset..it seems to me...that the people they have and the advice they seek, are inept in their jobs and decisions..go to the nearby golf course and get their green keeper..its in pristine condition ...not because its by chance...its because they take PRIDE in making sure its up for an event..whilst some may say,the handling of a golf course and a race track is too different scenarios, whilst this may be true,it doesnt take away from the point that absolute specialists need to be consulted..or have they all gone overseas.
i was looking at borrowdale race track ....i think that thats the best track in africa at the moment, and to think that borrowdale racing was on the verge of collapse not but a few years ago...is feather in a cap to the resilience they portray, and the dedication they have..
coming back to greyville..its really sad to see the demise of it..and all this in such a short time....maybe i am having memory loss...but,i remember in days gone by..that GREYVILLE was said to have the best drainage in the world..to have a meeting that was scheduled for greyville ,being abandoned was nearly unheard of...i remember being on course and races being run in driving rain..am i wrong...or is it the first sign of old age memory loss

RG, they did have the green keeper at Royal Durban in to help. Also the Kenilworth manager, Top turfs top guy, the top guy from Jhb and another consultant. They had 3 different ideas on what to do.
