Jockeys, Trainers and Owners

As an owner you are invited by the trainer to watch your horse do its final gallops cos it is prepared to WIN at the fortcoming meeting. Betting opens n ur horse's price is TAKEN before u blink.
I asked the trainer n jockey about this cos I PAY for the upkeep of MY HORSE n I'm shrugged OFF.
Am told U WILL GET DA WINNERS CHEQUE so y whine
TO DAT TRAINER WE OWNERS KEEP U IN BUSINESS so I'm DOING da RITE THING I'm WALKING ...horse won by da way
By the way who gave da info n PUNTED GVZ first timer on SUNDAY
Guess who ... AD

Mate u r lucky at least u got invited to a final gallop, I had to look up on formgrids to see if my horses were running
Then I would call the trainer and find out it's chances . I learnt something the hard way in this game , if u a small owner in a so called big stable you are forgotten . It broke me down and I SOLD MY SHARES IN MY HORSES, and guess WHAT I GOT PEANUTS because one of my horses had a so called injury and was going to need surgery only to see on formgrids that she was running in the fillies guineas on That Saturday, SOMETHING MY TRAINER FORGET TO MENTION BEFORE I COULD SELL MY SHARES

You guys should name those trainers
No point in only a few know who they are
If i was the owner i would so others will know who to steer clear of
They are not doing racing any good

If that happened to me RP there would be no doubt my horses would leave that stable.
Nash, as much as I feel for you I understand that the big yards cannot keep in contact with all the minority shareholders in horses. It would take up more time than actual training. My suggestion us find guys with the same passion and buy together thus having a bigger share and being able command more info. Or move to a smaller stable.
I am with Craig and I have never been happier. The amount if effort he puts in to keep us newbie owners up to date and constantly inviting us to the stable to see our boy and watch him run really makes owning the horse a pleasure. I had the pleasure of meeting a well known owner also with Craig's stable who has gad many horses in the big yards, and has said that being with Craig in the smaller yard has been the best decision he ever made.
Now we just got to see if our boy has any talent and hopefully can earn a few stake cheques to pay his own way.

I didn't choose the #puntlife, the #puntlife chose me!

Welcome to the club Royal President. I had the same problem as well with a big trainer and some other trainers. Today I am dealing with David Niewenhuizen and Duncan Howells who are very honest when it comes to your information in regards with your horses. The horse that I had with Duncan Howells was a Judpot and Duncan said after five runs the horse did not shape and we got rid of her. It was not lets keep on trying and I throw good money after bad and also he gives us the horse that have chances in the stable that are running so we can have a punt and get our money back. I also have two fillies with David and it is the same thing. They have the passion and it is not the money that they need. If You are a Durban boy I would recommend Duncan Howells and Guatenger David Niewenhuizen any time. Both are great people to deal with.

Don't know Duncanpersonally but his record with babies and sprinters speaks for itself - David is a great guy and has also proven himself with limited stock - There are many nice guys out there will small stings that you can trust - Craig Mayhew is a very good mate of mine and I can vouch for him - He won't do you in BUT always remember that once a horse is in the racecard and the books price up it no longer belongs to you but to the betting public(I know it is hard to accept as an owner because you pay the fees - I've been there- but the betting public pay the stakes)

I don't think here is the place for that. You only get one side of the story for a start and we all know about that. Also, unnamed people naming others is pathetic. The bare minimum is you sign your name if it's personal, and that changes everything.
In fact, if there was one rule on this forum it should be that if you accuse someone by name or in a manner which makes it obvious to whom you refer, you sign your name or otherwise keep it non specific.
