How much did it cost you for not wearing your helmet?

Apologies chaps I did not know the whole story !! Did not realise it led to the winner being disqualified (I did not follow racing on Saturday) ... so I retract my comments above :(

First time offence or repeat transgressor ??

I remember calls on this forum for Howells to put Forbes back on Via Africa when it "failed" twice in Cape Town...so then he was the right/a good jockey because he put money in pockets but now all sorts of aspersions are cast since people are out of pocket...

Just cannot please all of the people all of the time...

Has this been posted before ? If so, please provide link to thread...

I saw that Berthe initally won and then that Mamzelle won so wondered if there was interference but that would have resulted in demotion not disqualification...

There are more learned and knowledgeable posters here so I'm sure they know more about what transpired that I do...

Shame I spoke to Alec yesterday (his birthday) and embarrassed is putting it mildly. It will not make right his wrong but as I know him as a person it was definately not done on purpose. Sorry for the punters losing out though.

alec is an officer and a gentleman ,he rode many winners for me and he will be feeling very embarrased about what transpired...its great to know that the ones giving him shit on here have never made stupid mistakes in their lives..
