Couldn't resist having a(nother) dig !!! If United don't beat Everton, United will not have any Thursday matches next season...

tnaicker there is a story that goes along something like this

an injured frog was sat next to the riverbed wanting to get across to river to visit his in laws.
a passing crocodile noticed the frog on the river bank and enquired what the problem was
the frog explained his situation to which the croc said " hoop on my back and I will take you across the river" to which the frog said " but you will eat me"
the croc informed the frog that he was a friendly croc and that he had just had eaten a zebra so not too worry as he was full.
the frog took the croc on his offer and his word and off they went across the river
when they got to the otherside of the river the croc said to the frog that "you know whats going to happen now" The frog said "but you said that you would not eat me"
well said the croc. I am not nasty or do I lie but its in my nature.

so its in my nature to take the piss with United fans whenever I can.

I hope that clears it up for you.

Nothing to say that we cannot return as a previous incarnation !! Just depends on how much "cleansing" your soul requires...and only you can answer that !! :)

lol JC we could get into a kiddies you started it "argument" on this one ;) but I can assure you that if you were to read Gary Neville's (excellent) autobiography he will give you some insight into what it was like being a United fan pre our era of success and during L'^^^^'s period of domination. I am a decade older than Mr Neville and can confirm what he says to be accurate. Much harder for him no doubt though living up that way. I had to suffer the original southern glory hunters though, indeed I have many friends who are L^^^^ supporters, none of whom (thankfully!) have a scouser accent! :) Something those friends know but I don't think many seem to appreciate here, is that our respective football clubs are very important to some of us, it is heart-felt and part of our being. In my case since I was 3 years old. Taking the p1ss sometimes hurts cos we feel the defeat or whatever inside. If we lost to you guys for example then my various partners over the years would know to avoid me for a good couple of hours after, possibly just leave me be for the rest of the day/week etc! I just wouldn't be in a "jolly" mood lol. The chirping can be fun if occasional and amusing, no issue with that at all provided it is not immediately after a bad result. But the constant monotony of repetitive "jokes" or unfounded nonsense reasons for hating United or for their success are just a pain in the rear and boring. I have been complimented by said friends and Arsenal fans over the years for both appreciating (in Arsenal's case) their football and for not taking the p1ss when they are down. I would confess they say I am rare among United fans but then I am not sure how many United fans (down south!) have the same depth of feeling for the club as I do, plastic fans if you like. I would not call myself humble, just a reasonable guy who knows, for the most part, when to take the p1ss and when not to. Now that of course may all sound a little sad and pathetic (and I am expecting some to possibly say so lol) but it is nevertheless a fact of life for those of us who have a deep love of our club.

Englander you should know by now that its not at all personal. Its just banter and yes some fanatical fans go too far. As for me its just stirring fans like yourself up, nothing vindictive or ultra nasty. (tu)

Thanks CnC but not being funny or aiming the following at you but you miss the point a little me thinks. Banter is banter, repetitive banter (and sometimes untimely) is not stirring, it is annoying and, in some ways, unpleasant, especially when it comes in an otherwise decent discussion on a thread. I love chatting and discussing all things football and I can take more than my fair share of friendly abuse but I have 90% given up on these threads, that tells its own story really.

Well lets begin with a clean slate and hope that either Chelsea or Man City take the title as I for one will not be able to handle Jamie Carragher and his scouse accent going on and on and on forever and a day telling us how wonderful Liverpool are for winning the title after 24 years.
