Variety Club, in preparation for Sunday’s Gr1 Hong Kong Mile, worked evenly on turf under big-race jockey Anton Marcus and was clocked at a steady 30.9s through his final 400m.

Marcus said of the 16 time-winner and dual South African Horse Of The Year: “He felt good. No problems.”

Mike de Kock will be arriving in Hong Kong on Thursday.

From the little I know of horses, 1400 / 1600 m horses always seem to look beautiful...perfect combination of speed and some stamina...always though that National Emblem was a beautiful horse also and he had a 1400/1600 m record to envy...

Variety Club in similar mould but the experts can enlighten me...
