Titch, I really enjoy you and respect your racing knowledge. I also think that you are trying to protect Muzi, which is fine by me.
I have spoken to 3 top boys about the incident and they all agree that it was Muzi's fault entirely. Muzi cost us the R2R cup with Negev and that's why he doesn't ride for us.
But the truth of the matter is that Muzi often gets away with this and it happens a bit too regularly. And when the jocks have a go at him, like they would with anyone else, he either runs to the boardroom....or meets them in the carpark with his friends....
We cannot have different rules for different people in racing.

last time i heard a jockey weighed 50kg and a horse 500kg. an accident happened and it has nothing to do with Muzi's intentions. I think those accusing him owe him an apology.

why would he tell his horse to get in front Fourie when they were both at the back of the field?

Ken you have lost me (
)
It`s only an accident if the horse is not under the riders control

A very very bad decision by Muzi. Both at the back of the field, so why come in? Just carry on where you were. A bad ride, bad decision and i have to agree......Muzi needs to explain and perhaps needs to get a suspension

I have watched the race a few times now and agree with Craig74, Jet Expl. over racing, difficult to restrain, bumps Ice Machine first then into Muzi and goes down. Did Muzi move across dangerously in my opinion, yes but there are unfortunately a few factors that have caused this incident and one of them is definately that the horse was over racing and difficult to restrain the other is that Muzi has moved over as Jet Explorer bumps into Ice Mach.

Hibs i think i'm also lost:)o....
i just can't see Muzi getting in Front of Richard for the fun of it when they were miles away from home. so it could be that his horse was moving outwards while Richard was getting pulled by his. so in essence both riders were not in control at the time hence the accident......

Re: Re: Did Muzi cause Fouries fall ?

Having said this I also believe that after Cormack getts BB over he slows her down considerably which causes some of the horse behind to either check or move out and this continues to the back of the field. The only horse that remains on a relatively straight running line is the eventual winner.
In Muzi's defence he might have looked over and seen RF battling to restrain his mount and the gap was there as Jet Expl. was not next to Ice machine but at the hind quarter. This was split second stuff so I am not willing to just blame Muzi until the jocks give their versions.
