Years ago in the UK if there was 3 days of sand racing the bookies would be empty

Minefield of huge proportions, plenty in with some sort of chance almost throughout the card. Will hopefully post all selections tomorrow (without waffle as too many with chances!!) but, for the first couple, my thoughts...

R1 Cat And The Moon has beaten both Venita and Nice Catch by 5.5l over 1200 on the turf, both must have good shouts here in what looks for the most part a mediocre bunch. NC has the advantage of proven Poly form but has been drawn wide in 10 so I'll chance Venita from the 2 box. Thundering Light and Othersideofmidnite perhaps quartet considerations. R2 The consistent Howami has run well over a number of distances and seems sure to be thereabouts but I think she might find one or two stronger on the day again. There are plenty in with something of a chance, not going through them all but the most interesting runner for me is Angel of Mine. Was drawn 13/14 when racing wide lto over 1000 but prior to that was staying on over the minimum trip when beaten only 1.75l by Cool For Cats, with a few of these rivals further back. Assuming the step up in d suits then from the 3 draw she could be a major player. The win vote though goes to Nautical Gem who has finished close up over 1000 and 1200 despite poor draws and again lto over 1200 when returning from a 14 week break. Draw not the kindest again but she has proved she can overcome them before (and Howami only 1 better off) and if coming on for that last run looks to me like she could be a big runner.
