Tipping or Bullshit?

I'm a first time poster,I normally just scroll through and enjoy the knowledgable posts from you more educated gamblers.
I was told to join a tipping website, that tips hotties from jockeys.so I did join this site and I must admit that you do get some interesting views.
But one jockey, namely Strydom has continually tipped a horse in a race that finishes as an also ran
and he wins on another horse in the race..Today he tipped Steelwing and Springblaster. Both were unplaced, but he won each race.Last week he did a similar thing.
Maybe I'm a sore loser or he doesn't know what he is talking about.

I did not watch both the races in question but i did have a double to close with Springblaster. I was told that it was badly bumped at the start.

I will check the replays later to confirm.

If Mr Strydom was a good tipster do you really think he would be breaking sweat and riding horses all day?

I would think it very unlikely it is bullsh1t Vince (welcome). As with any tipping service, they will simply not survive if they get a poor reputation and they are no doubt doing it to earn a buck. And it is not worth Striker's reputation either to give you a load of bollox. I have always found his comments decent, if understood that he can sometimes be somewhat negative about his own rides.

Both horses you mention were well fancied and for whatever reason, as with Rheims, were extremely disappointing. Agra has given a possible reason for the fav in the last and imo the jockey on Steelwing went wide too early round the bend and it cost him far too much ground to be effective come the finish. Whether that can partly be blamed on the track condition rather than poor riding I don't know.

What I would say is perhaps monitor at which tracks they do best. As Shrek suggested last week, the Vaal sand has become an increasingly difficult place to punt and trust in the surface etc is becoming a huge issue. Like him, it was until quite recently my favourite place to bet but I have lost confidence in it now. Needs to resolve its problems and quick. Striker probably suffers the same as the rest of us. What might be useful for sand/poly cards is if they say they know a newcomer to the surface has worked well on it at home... yes, we should be given that info by trainers anyway but that is clearly just a 99% pipe dream! Good luck with it anyway bud.

I would never pay for a tip ( have been in the game too long)
Would have to say if a trainer or jock gave me info on a race I would tend to have a bigger bet than normal ( not a clever idea)
I did have the first tipping service in SA ( FPTP) first past the post and was only based on syndicates to play exotics before fractional betting

Striker did indeed go for both Steelwing and Springblaster and went on to win both races, however owner Neil Andrews also thought that the king and i was beatable and Societi had last won a race in Kimberly.... as bob referred to i believe that long term it is beneficial to hear his view/opinion but then just as important is to use your own judgement before making your final decision, the meeting before when riding Penitent Pirate he went for the 1st timer Splendid Garden to beat 25/1 Out Of My way which is how they ran , made Red Star and Judicial his best 2 bets on the card and tipped Commodore Al (16/1) outright ..clearly a case of swings and roundabouts..

I did join a tipping service once and as soon as I followed them they went on a loosing streak.
I quieted and at a later date did it again and the same happened ...and have come to the conclusion follow your own tips and you dont need the tipsters ..all you need to do is follow some of the comments made on this site and play around it
Love this site
