Dave Scott (scotia) update on bucket list.

Good morning to the Clan and all the readers.
It has become difficult to watch the news these days with all the atrocities going on, between Gaza, Russia, planes missing or being shot down, kidnapping etc.
Its a terrible planet the way we treat each other and the lack of respect for human life.
I guess if we put things into perspective things in SA are not that bad, our only fears and concerns being Julius Malema and Tellytrack.
Would have to say that I have been enjoying the Commonwealth games from Glasgow in Scotland and on the subject of my birth place I have noticed a drastic change in the betting where the NO vote was 2/9 to its current odds, if it was a horse race it looks like the original fav went to the start lame?
The heart has often ruled the brain and we are a patriotic bunch, I am rather out of touch these days but I picture the rebuilding of Hadrians wall enclosing Geordie land so that nobody from outside the wall can understand a word they are saying, maybe a new Scottish passport and the plan to keep all the whisky produced inside the country and if my calculations are correct that's 3 bottles a day for every man, woman and child to allow us all to be singing "Flower of Scotland" before lunch time.
So a possibility that Scotland could be added to the bucket list.
will it be YES for Scotland?
The big news is that we decided not to do anything special for our 40th wedding anniversary in March and would wait to later in the year.
Well Mrs S gave me a massive surprise with 2 return tickets to Mauritius, which certainly made my selection box of Estée Lauder aging cream pale into insignificance, so another one of the bucket list is on the cards.
So we leave on Thursday for 7 days and thanks to Michel Nairac from Gold Circle he has arranged for us to visit Champ De Mar on the Saturday, so will be keeping you all posted on this thread of our experience to racing on the Island with photos to follow.
Mrs S tried to put us on a diet the last couple of weeks as she did not want to be seen walking on the beach with a fat bastard but I am afraid it has failed.
The diet was called Tim Noaks? Not sure if he was a cricketer or golfer but his food was good, bacon, eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes for breakfast but no bread.
I think the first cracks came when I asked if I could eat peppermints, not that I like them but thought it would hide the alcohol I was drinking behind Sues back, so will just have to find some bigger speedos for the poolside.
The last few weeks have been rather frustrating with the site upgrade and as usual Bob has been a star behind the scenes, with Niko now on board we hope to move to another level of Internet integration to make your visits to the site more comprehensive but we certainly have more voyers than poster, so don't be shy, get posting
Interesting topics this week
Hollywood Sets The Record Straight
Awarding of Protea Colours
Christian Bester wins Charity Turf Challenge
Grade1 catch up
Good punting and may your God be with you.

If its a yes vote then Scotland is doomed. People only think that if they vote yes it will get them away from Westminster. I know what I will be voting and hopefully 51% vote the same way.

According to Wiki there may be another referendum but only for the islands one week after. Yip, the Shetlands, Orkneys and Western Isles (my son lives near Stornoway) are talking about whether to go alone without Scotland!!! Phew!!
