Must admit I always doubt my selections here
Bob, I think we all doubt our selections, it's really challenging finding a winner here let alone a double. Will take a chance in the 1st with the 1st timer, exacta's, swingers, quartetes, trifectas with The Big Easy and Grand Opera, See if I can make a decent return to setup the balance of the card.

Shine Tiger in the last is interesting.He ran with much better company in his first five cd runs.In the last of those five runs he finished last and was rested for two months.His first comeback run cd (2nd after break ) was on 03-25 ,won by Across The Ice and on the same day was four lengths off Royal Stock.He has run six times after this for a win over 1200m turf (raised six MR).Reverting back to 1000m sand he runs off a 68 (6 less then his 03-25).
Make a habit of not checking riders before studying a race and as I built up his case I thought that if Gavin is riding it must be the right one
For those of us that prefer safety first
Sea Knight / Shine Tiger place double 22/10

Red Inn has looked one paced, maybe the drop in trip on a heavier surface will suit

Sea Knight (P) X Captain's Diva (P) {she's very speedy and will go straight to the front, they won't catch her, she was caught late last time over the 1200m and now over the minimum trip with a decent draw she would be my safer option to place}

Elvis and myself making the trip to the States today to watch our Master Entertain the multitudes expected on track
According to the stable he is very well and should run a big race. However this looks a tough handicap and he does seem held by the stable companion Estancia - but ME should have improved from the run behind Nigel Mansell, so it could be close between the 2. Other obvious danger imo is Mauri Blue who seems back to the type of form that saw him run 2.5 lengths behind Henry Higgins in September last year.
I agree with most that Samogan looks the part - I don't think you will find to many horses breaking 24 seconds for the last 400 of a 1450 on this surface, so if that time is accurate (plus the collateral from with Jet Avenger through Brad's Surge) he should be very hard to beat.
In the last Royal Stock gets a run and looks fair each-way value to me over his best trip
Enjoy
