Save Bob doing it and, with my distrust of the course at the moment, no harm in putting down selections early... especially as it is not a card I like much anyway. No point putting down thoughts etc as it has felt pretty pointless lately anyway at this venue so not wasting my time. Might add to thoughts/comments though...

You might getting the idea that I have less and less confidence in selections on the Vaal sand, you wouldn't be wrong and I will be playing small...

R1 THE BIG EASY x GRAND OPERA x SUPER CLUB
R2 JOHNNY CHESTNUT x RED INN x ROLLING RUBY
R3 SEA KNIGHT x DOING IT FOR DAN x WILD THING
R4 CHEDWIN PARK x SAMOGAN x JET AVENGER
R5 ESTANCIA x MAURI BLUE x DIE KAT
R6 LADY OF KILDARE x GO DUTCH x MISS K
R7 PRECURSOR x SAUSALITO BAY x ROYAL ADMIRAL
R8 SLICK DEPUTY x TIGER'S LEGACY x SHINE TIGER

Be(s)t of luck to all

Vaal Sand 31st July 2014 - Selections {Taking small multiples}

Race 1 : Rocks X In The Head X To back this bunch {Masnoon (AUS) the Progeny of Big Brown (USA) who ran 2nd to Precursor who runs in Race 7 later} In all honesty The Big Easy from the same Sire should absolutely flatten this field by double figures, if he wanted he could run sideways with three legs blindfolded and still win by a couple of lengths

Race 2 : Rolling Ruby X Field {Rolling Ruby the only runner worth an each way, run against stronger, should enjoy the extra and drawn well

Race 3 : Sea Knight X JimmiJagga (SK has beaten the latter with ease and looks the right one)

Race 4 : Samogan (AUS) - easy, has the field stone cold on form

Race 5 : Estancia - best bet on the card if running to form at a nice price!!

Race 6 : Field

Race 7 : Precursor {As mentioned above}

Race 8 : Captains Diva

Good luck to all with runners!!

WP (and a couple of others keen on Samogan)... not saying Samogan won't win, far from it, and definitely not trying to put anyone off but for me Chedwin Park worth a saver at least.

CP beat Samogan lto (Samogan's penultimate run) on the turf by 2.75l and CP is now 2kgs better off.

Lto Samogan beat Perfect Trip over this c/d by 5.5l receiving 2kgs.
Last time on the sand CP won over c/d with Perfect Trip 5.25l adrift, CP was giving 3kgs. Samogan is giving CP 3kgs here.
If my maths is right, that means, on the sand runs alone, CP is 8kgs better off for a 0.25l smaller victory margin.

CP also has the bonus of the 1 box here.

Now of course that is all on paper and Samogan won very well lto and could easily go in again here but at 4 x the price, I'll risk a little on CP e/w, All that said, others have chances too! ;)
