Premier League kick off 2014/15

The top of the league is going to be very interesting this season as the top 4 from last season will be there again (Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal) plus the improving Everton and Man United (who will have a slight advantage by not playing in Europe this season similarly to Liverpool last season who nearly pulled it off)

Man United should get off to a flyer as the fixtures have favoured them in the first 6 matches and I expect them to be top for a while. Man City have a squad that can have two teams in the Premiership and still challenge for the title and in the end it should be either Man City or Chelsea to win in with Arsenal, Liverpool, Man United, Everton and Spurs fighting for the remaining top 4 places.

At the bottom new comers Burnley will find it very tough as will Leicester City. QPR also coming up after a season out and they are stronger defensively now and should stay up.

Southampton have lost half of their side but the new manager has a cool head and they should have another good season. The same cant be said of West Ham who seem to be wanting to get rid of their manager every other week. Sunderland and Newcastle will do better than last season as will Aston Villa. Palace will surprise a few again and stay up as their manager knows whats required. Stoke could be the surprise team this season as they have a settled team now.

West Brom could also struggle this year as they seem to have stood still. Hull City have gained plenty of confidence from last season and should improve and although they have lost a few players Swansea should do enough to stay up

I expect Man City to have a slow start again with Man United up front along with Chelsea and Arsenal in the opening month. At the bottom Burnley, Leicester and West Brom for the drop

Should yet again be a season to enjoy.

Being a gunner breaks my heart to say this, but I don't see any different this year.... We will get off to an absolutely mouth watering start, fade off into the sunset mid season, and finish off strong end of season when champs league spot is up for grabs... Wish we could just perform for the whole season for once.....

Leicster are certainties to avoid the drop having accumulated over 100 points in the championship which is not done too often whilst aston villa are ready made bankers to go down along with west brom who will struggle all season then its burnley or palace for the other position

United have got what on paper looks like an easy start to the season. If they aren't top at the end of September there is something seriously wrong. A good bet for the FA Cup after everybody settles down.

Arsenal looked solid in last weekends friendly against what was a City league cup squad and look good for third or fourth.

Chelsea will not lose many but goals could be a problem. Top 3 & League Cup.

Liverpool have made some good signings and if they settle in quickly they are championship contenders.

City should win the League in style. A settled squad from last season with good cover in every position. A better run in The Champions League may unseat them but definitely top 2.

The usual contenders being Spurs, Newcastle and Everton will fight out the balance of the top 8 with Stoke and Sunderland as dark horses.

Southampton, Burnley and West Brom to go down.

the fixture list for the opening 6 matches have been kind to Man United. You play all 3 promoted sides and you are expected to win all 6. So no we wont be pissed off.

So far you have to give it to Van Gaal with his bold selection playing 3 at the back.
