I think this site has a 20/60/20 principle at any given time.

20 % good news
60 % run of the mill posts
20 % bad news posts.

unfortunately bad news sells just look at main stream media.

online forums etc are here to stay and play a critical role in getting industry to transform. HELLO PETER.COM comes to mind.

Industry administrator the guardians of this industry should use these forums as a mirror to where they are and see what can be improved. we all can improve what we doing if we are willing to listen and change.

the administrators would be far more respected if they interacted rather than ridicule these sites. Even if communication is done thru an intermediary.

but hey that's just SLY view.

At least 'show' isn't included amongst the bet types.

So if I follow the above drivel will I SHOW a profit? No or everyone would be doing it!! The better option is something I've told these people to do for ages - PUBLISH winning bets that resulted from a small outlay WITHOUT any tagline to entice - "Winners this Week - R2000 trifecta for R24 (Springs Agency) Pick 6 5% R40 000 cost R100 (Belvue Tab) etc" If you begin teaching new punters about Racing and the Stats show losses over a week you will lose them - Rather sell them a dream then a reality that results in an empty bank account and a hatred for the game. Have the people that come up with this fodder ever had a proper bet in their lives? Nonsense in the extreme

I have read the press release now over and over to try and get some feel of the situation.
After years in corporate life I recognize plenty of "Arthur Andersson type" clichés and expressions..............not one hint of practical application.

And Don,I am afraid that I interperate your "we will drip feed you the plans" as code for "we can't tell you much as we are going to make it up as we go along"

Seldom read so many words ,promising so much, saying so little!

I really hope I have to eat my words................I will do so gladly!

.....not trying to be negative nor too cynical but one has just have a look at who got the job of doing this promotion and where he came from....an ex promotions and marketing guy from JD group that was once roped in as a sponsor representative for the Sansui Summer Cup...... Keep it in the family as we all know who has the uncle in the furniture group..... :ohmy:

Just catching up... What did I miss?

Surely as an owner I would have been invited?
There can be no doubt that as an RA member I would have at least got a call?
And finally I cannot believe that as a Tab account holder this massive news would have escaped my inbox?

.... Oh well I guess I'm not the target market.....

Never the less good luck racing with this initiative... I sincerely wish you the best

PS if it's doesn't work out quite like planned how about lunch and a word of advice .... A happy customer is a great marketing tool, what's more he's a whole lot cheaper to retain than replace...

Sitting racing today and can't help reflecting that while we are being promised big things ,racing can't yet manage the little things.................
In the last hour
a)Tab-online down and not taking bets
b)watched the 7th race at Fairview with a Tellytrack banner telling us it was Nottingham race 4
&
c)this morning I submitted a withdrawal from Telebet....................not even taken off my balance yet.

If we looking to get more customers we need to be ready to provide them a basic service!
