Now 3rd run after a rest. 2 very good runs under the skirt.
I think the horse should be 9/10 in this field, I don't care how good the Van Vuuren/Lerens combo is or how high their strike rate is.
66/10 on HWood at the moment. Time for the balls against the wall!
Not sure that is madness Haupie, think CB must have decent claims. What I would say is I doubt you would last long as a bookie if you marked it up at 9/10, would love to see the prices you offered for Winter Al and Sarve if that were the case! Definitely not saying CB won't win but, certainly pre-knowledge of trainer comments, I think the prices you would then have to offer for the other two would be very tempting!!
I suppose you make sense. Pre knowledge and all outside factors do play a ROLE.
Then again, if I get beaten by a 1st timer, so be it.... Age old debate

Race 2 - I'm going to take my chances with Olympic Bolt who is having his 3rd start in JHB.
Ran on fairly well this track over shorter 2 starts back and a clear second last time over further.
Gets a tough draw again but has enough early pace to be well positioned.

The more they go for the first timers the better the price on Yutar's Stay Amazed,a place.
Shrewd jockey booking and related to Vivacious Star and Tilbury who have both showed their ability to handle the surface
Red Please and Crown Bearer should be right with him
Drawn right on the outside

It looks to be another tough card.
I don't have any bankers in anything today so I decided to look for value on the criteria I stated last week (well drawn and gate speed)
My roughies for the day all each way selections are:
R5 Benbow, well in at the weights and interesting jockey booking of Aucharuz who's in fine form.
R7 General Custer won his maiden very well and the drop in trip off a low weight inform trainer/jockey combo I think has a lot going for him today.
R8 possible improver Waikato if he sees out the trip.
R9 Beautiful dawn could round off a successful day for Gavin Lerena.
Play well chaps.

LH and Englander both make good points, it's racing fellas and anything can happen. CB does have descent exposed form LH and she could well win the 1st with ease but 9/10 I think a little short, current price of 6/1 very good value, as for Winter Al# like Englander mentioned earlier bred very well with a great jockey/trainer combo so wouldn't surprise me to see her win either.

I cannot believe we are getting 3/1 on Nigel Mansell. My pick for Emerald cup. Making it a 5 leg pick 6 for me and that is also the double I will be playing quite strongly.
Good luck Frodo and Elvis tomorrow. Also think ME should hold all those previously raced although there do seem some lurkers and for me it's Waikato.
