Ebor Festival at York
10 years 9 months ago
In this week’s International Feature we focus on the annual EBOR FESTIVAL to be held in the United Kingdom from Wednesday 20 August to Saturday 23 August at YORK RACECOURSE. Three Group 1 events, namely the Juddmonte International Stakes run over 2092m on Wednesday, the Darley Yorkshire Oaks to be contested over 10 furlongs on Thursday and the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes run over five furlongs on Friday head up the carnival. There are also three supporting Group 2 events and two Group 3 races during the four-day showpiece. All the action of the Ebor Festival is brought to you by WINNING FORM and HOLLYWOODBETS.NET.

In the opener today trainer Ryan has Fast Act. Yesterday he had the winner of the sprint, Blaine, which I tipped up on ABC at 20/1 so hoping for the sprint double. New Providence provides stiff opposition imo. Taking wins on Fast Act and each way on New Providence with the exacta.

Cnc,maybe you can answer this and it might be a silly question, but why in a lot of the feature/main races in the uk, are the fields so small? Is it due to the quality being small, or is it just due to there being so many options at so many tracks in the uk?

In a lot of big races in the uk you have to earn a place in the race. That's my only explanation (I think I could be wrong)
Its definitely not the quality been not up too scratch. Maybe Bob can provide the correct answer.

I am sure it's due to the quality of nominations, who wants to be beaten 20 L by Frankel or Australia ( they scare them off)

I understand what you are saying, however when you racing for 13million, I couldn't care if I came second by 35lengths. It will still be a very juicy cheque.Maybe I am not talking sense, just my opinion....
