I have been "moaning| about the corporate strategy of asset stripping for years.............as pointed out by Maselle, this is the change necessary to complete the exercise!
What other possible reason can be offered for the application?
"P" has the other players (ie. RA and NHA) in their pockets anyway,so no opposition will be coming from those quarters!!!

Agree Bob - poor decision with flogging Clairwood but they showed a profit for 2 years whilst on lease
Unless they looking at selling off the racecourses and leasing back for a fixed term?
This reduces maintenance costs etc. and they can reflect better numbers for the shareholders
A number of companies are now opting to "sell and lease" for fixed term as the sale numbers reflect on the GP% and you have fixed monthly costs for lease
Just my view from a COS and OPEX take on things

Any establishment that has the income stream that local racing has,and cannot make a profit is mis-managed!!!!
It is necessary to control and manage the non-variable expenses...............basic!
Any change in legislation that allows, a mis-managed monopoly, carte blanche, is completely irresponsible and will endanger the local industry!!!!!!!.......................how much more evidence does anybody need to recognise "clowning"?
It is been run like a 3 ring circus ,only worse.
