I was very disappointed to hear no time taken for Brutal Force.....

Yes, what with that? No excuse for not taking time . In this day and age we should be getting as much info as possible . It's not rocket science to get a time in a race down the straight. A while back there was talk about sectional timing , which is standard in many countries and yet not even a stopwatch time on that race?

problem is in South Africa 'we' do not believe in race times that's why you get so many N.T.Ts.

Using 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th as line horses, Act of War ran to +-108-110...MLJet ran to about 97-98...+-10 points below official rating of 108...

That means that Afrikaburn, Harry's Son. MLJet and Act of War all around 108-110 among the colts / geldings and Majmu at 114 as top filly...Eish...I think the ratings are about 3-4 points too high and it starts when horses are being rated too high for the maiden wins and runs against each other as many of them are unexposed against older horses...

because running in a maiden plate is too mainstream.. would have loved to see him on a longer straight.. Hopefully MDK goes for the triple crown with him

He seems to stand over a lot of ground and has quite a stride
well done to J Ramsden and the owners

OK, blow out the candles.... great run on Saturday by Act of War.

One question thou, the stable companion which ended up the pace maker, was the jockey riding to instructions? If so is this considered giving the horse the best chance of winning? Has this horse always run handy?

I do not want to take anything away from AoW's win but there are rules in place regarding riding to instructions and also giving a horse the best chance of winning. In my opinion the pace maker was never given the best chance of winning...... He finished 5th after leading most of the way which tells me he had a chance of finishing second or third....

This is just a question and i would like some input from those who know and understand the rules.

He will likely have to fetch Harry's Son in the Cape Guineas (if the latter can get there) as Harry's has a quicker burst. Harry's also stays on so it should be a great race if it happens.
