Great performance - on previous evidence ML Jet is no slouch but AoW put him away giving 4.5 kg's - don't think Gauteng or KZN have anything that could live with him

Imo MLJet is gonna be one of those horses who keeps getting beat due to all sorts of excuses and then eventually cracks one but time will tell in the mean time I'm gonna keep backing against it

Light The Lights has a merit rating of a huge 105. Then following the performance of Act Of War I think the MR's for these 3yo's need to be reviewed.

Act Of War is out of the top drawer and proved it yesterday. Whilst the thread is about AOW, MLJet's performance should be seen in context. Whilst many would be disappointed that MLJet did not win, when based on MR's, should have, the run should be seen in the broader scheme of things. This was his Cape and seasonal debut, first time the course and a prep run towards the Guineas, Derby or maybe both.
Having said that, the Marshall stable would be disappointed or worried that MLJet was beaten by AOW in receipt of 4.5kgs, but maybe they went a tad slow which would explain why MLJet didn't settle and AOW quickened the better of the two. Moral of yesterday's exercise, the Marshall stable would have to try and qualify a decent pacemaker of their own or hope the respective races don't turn into the dreaded Cape Crawl. One ray of hope, MLJet will be suited to the Kenilworth new/summer course with the longer run-in.
Getting back to AOW, he will be a warm favourite for the Guineas, and rightly so. The Ramsden stable must be saying, "bring it on boys". If victorious in the Guineas, let's hope he remains in the country.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

in both group 1 features for 2yo colts in july there was only 5 lengths covering the first 10 horses the races won by afrikaburn then harrys son so there was always a slight question mark on the strengths of the formline when they finish in a heap..act of war just like variety club never came to natal for their 2yo career and im hoping that if all goes well in the cape guineas that both act of war and mljet go for the queens plate just like gimmethegreenlight and variety club did as 3yos...they ran in 1st and 2nd in that prestigious race..great season ahead

MLJet did not come to the party, i'll put a line through that run. Pity for the winner cos he'll get overrated for 'beating a better horse'.
I was very disappointed to hear no time taken for Brutal Force.....
