High colors? We have another coward on ABC that hides behind his pseudonym. Only 10 posts when this thread started and wont give his name. I wonder why?

Craig as much as we love gambling it does not favour too well with others
Off season in Kzn since the restrictions is very dire from a punters point and it is eroding into our status as a province.Good trainers attract good horses and if the likes of Syd Laird were still around today your bosses would never need to do what they did

Rule no 1/2/3 and 4 in racing and if you gave ever trained you will know. If there is no natural ability in the horse, you can be,anyone and it will not make a difference. A top trainer, years ago said it to me. We all train at Summerveld, we all feed the same food, we all use the same Vets, we all gallop Monday /Tuesday for races Sunday. What makes one horse win and another not? The horses natural ability. The biggest determining factor in racing by the proverbial mile.

These personal attacks really mystify me as they are so unnecessary. The thread discusses a trainer planning to take out a yard in KZN. It has interest on the racing front. It then degenerates into a mudslinging with personal attacks. For me it is a pleasure to have people give their opinions. It is not pleasant at all when people sling off.

Colors, I see you have now removed that stupid post. In the last 2 years I have been at my stable every day except when I have been at a sale and 2 days that I took off and went to a game reserve. That is weekends as well and from 430/500 am every morning. Many trainers are the same. Once again the uninformed making a noise when they know nothing of what actually goes on!

10 years 7 months agoI cant agree with you craig as each and every trainer will apply different techniques training methods feeding methods when should a horse rest how much work what to eat which track to use which race to run in keep off grass only sprint once a week perhaps sprint 3 times a week how much work etc ..the fact that when horse move from one trainer to another and THERE MERIT RATING GOES UP SEVERAL POINTS IS AN INDICATION THAT THE NEW TRAINER IS doing something different to the previous one ..there are different feeds on the market and also things such as swimming pools treadmills walkers etc ....there are many cases in point where horses have improved between 20 to 30 pounds in the ratingsCraig Eudey wrote: Rule no 1/2/3 and 4 in racing and if you gave ever trained you will know. We have been assured that this is his main yard and Jhb secondary. If not they will close him down here apparently. Will be easy to see where he spends most of his time.

Sorry Pirates I did not see your post. Phone said 1 new post and read that. I am not going to argue with you as that is your opinion but if there is 1 thing I have learnt in 37 years working in racing and that is if you don't have a horse with some ability, no one including Syd Laird and Mike de Kock will make it run. I don't care what anyone says. There have been horses in history that have left smaller trainers and gone to bigger or so called better trainers and they have gone backwards. They went back to the smaller trainer and came back to their form. If the previous trainer fed properly, housed properly, worked and got the horse fit and it was sound, it would not make the huge improvement you are talking about.
