Bunny Girls- are they outdated?

Robyn Louw's latest article on Sporting Post makes for interesting opinion. Is it sexist or not? Is it effective and does it send the right message out?

Don, I don't think it is sexist, These girls, I assume, are models and it is what they do. From the tv I have not noticed that they are as scantily clad as the article implies, it is nothing new to see such girls in short black dresses. If, in reality, they are little more than "slips" then yes, unnecessary.
I do think they are a bad idea though, nothing against the girls but the whole thing needs to be done a lot more professionally if a good impression is to be created. And they are not going to attract people to racing like an attractive bartender would to a bar. The draw, using the girl with pins on her chest, was an embarrassing farce and imo was borderline sexist and definitely has no place anywhere, let alone in SA racing.
I would spend my money elsewhere, plenty things in SA Racing in much greater need of financing me thinks.

I am wrong person to answer this post, but I think Robin misunderstood the brief for this article .
What I wanted to know was should the RA girls wear Bikinis in the pics as it is summer and u want the ladies to be comfortable as they work long hours.
I was suggesting a trial run of the concept in the WC before rollout to other provinces.

I am like Sly............certainly not offended by the girls
but I am suspicious of any serious product that needs to use sexy distractions to market it! Invariably they are there to disguise what is missing from the product itself!
