One of the interesting things is that the 800/400/200 format would have been ideal to include the sectional times when they become available (no longer imminent it seems)
It will be a very important part of "computerized" data so why remove that layout now?
Have a look at the "Sporting Pro card" in the Sporting Post ......is a much better option now IMO!

only the last 7 runs max of any horse as compared to a dozen or more in old format...if a horse has had a run since the book was printed it doesn't say in the horses formline also ran blah blah instead you must look back at form comment where they list all the horses...then in old book it was easy to see when a horse was gelded as g WAS PUT ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE but now you just have a date above...I have studied the 3 books for the weekend and there is fuckall improvement just fcuk shit and piss info which nobody gives a toss about ...it demonstrates yet again garners total lack of understanding of the industry and he should do all a favour and go back to being a journalist because he would be amongst mediocrity with his joburg colleagues...

.....surprised that no one has noted that this new Computaform format is an exact copy of the Hong Kong downloadable race card.....and as a race card is very good.....however it is not the Computaform we all know and are very used too.

Since today is a single meeting and have time to browse and use the new format online I will give it a try....but looking at it earlier nothing seems to jump out at me like finding the goodies like that of the old format.....

I shall stick with soap.hollywoodbets.net/wf/wf/guide/index.htm and Winning Form.

Not sure if it has been mentioned - but even in the old one, today's Kenilworth Computaform has limited the 'past form' shown to 7 runs - now that for me is a big thumbs down - I always look back in the form for things like MR drops etc. 'They' are really doing their best to stop my R200 flowing into the pools

.....gotta agree with Oscar though.....the changes are radical and a rip off of the Hong Kong race card so nothing novel about this idea....no consultation with those that use and subscribe to the product.....one has got to think that those in the know or the powers that be have collaborated amongst themselves and the original format provider .....with NADA input from the rest of the industry.....they suck but get the big bucks.....

absolutely correct Frodo and today we have different surfaces such as poly or sand and for an example a horse has 7 grass runs in a row then reverts back to poly or sand and you have absolutely zero form to see how that horse fared on that surface....thank the lord for formgrids but not everyone has a laptop to access it...

I wonder what the spread is for Online vs Hard-copies - If the online outgrows the Hard copy then surely the Digital version could be more like the older one we are more used to? I'm old-school in that way as I still love to have a hard copy when i'm racing as I like to make remarks and notes on the page(I know you can on certain digital formats) and I like the fact that I can take the book anywhere and study without having to use my phone, tablet or laptop but that's only me. I expect the younger set like a digital platform more. At home I don't mind as I have info on my laptop and can go between different pages with ease

You have got to be kidding.....................one of the common complaints of the new format is the lack of the pages of "all fields at a glance"
If you download the OLD FORMAT Computaform for Monday, they have removed those 2 pages ,even from the old format!!!!!!!!

It is truly unbelievable .......

....popped into a shop last night and checked out the Computaform for today.....man I don't want to be around hard and long time players that frequent betting establishments.....they must be rioting,....there is no way that this new look shyte will actually sell as a replacement for the Computaform......an alternative fancy race card yes maybe....but no way can it be used like that of the original format.....cant wait for the spin in justifying the changes.... trading paper for colour ink.....bling for the real thing....hope that the online option to have the original remains..... and if not, will never see my subscription money.....
