Kenilworth, 31/12

Last opportunity to end 2014 on a high with regards SA racing, so here's to hoping.

I fancy the following :-

R2) - Playingtheenemy (28/10), his last three runs have been against stronger merit rated company, particularly the last run where he bumped a really strong field, was not well in at the weights, and was finishing well over the 1000m. A repeat of that effort could see him in the #1 box.

R3) - Jam Tart (7/2), I fancy her chances based purely on the draw. Whilst soundly beaten last time out, she did jump from the widest gate and appears to have been used to get a better position, and was outrun in the run to the line. If she gets away okay, she will be involved in the finish.

R4) - No Resistance (18/10), Computaform does not appear to have printed it's last run on the 24/12 where he finished 5th to Golden Peg (according to Formgrids, check for yourself). That was a disappointing effort considering he was punted from 5/1 into 18/10 joint favourite. The run prior to the that was really decent from the widest draw, tomorrow from gate 1 and the longer run-in, he should fight out the finish (or so I'm hoping).

Good punting.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

The Tripster hard to beat. Going to take a dbl with Silvane Spring who has been crying out for the longer trip.

Race 5, stick House Of Lorraine into your exotics, she did take on the boys last time out, so that run is not as bad as it looks, not a confident selection in an open race, however not without a chance methinks.

I actually enjoyed studying a CT card!! Some very competitive stuff but with luck possibly some value about.

R1 The Tripster x Stem IDB with Amadeus Rocks a possible improver and my trifecta choice

R2 Playing The Enemy x Line Break though PTE has gone plenty short enough imo

R3 Probably Jam Tart but another who has gone plenty short enough imo. Belle On Ice has been disappointing last two but was not striding out in penultimate and possible she will enjoy the drop back in trip, though possibly even a 1400 may have suited more as she has been well beaten in her runs over 1600 and 1800 though possibly had excuses in both. She performed creditably at 1400 on debut and 1300 2nd time out. On debut she was 0.4l behind Black Belvedere who, on a line through Secret Society, it could be said finished 0.75l in front of Jam Tart (debut run to SS). 2nd time out, with the much worse draw, JT finished 0.4 ahead of Dwkya who was 1.25l behind Dungeon Dragon in the latter's debut run. That race was won by Trilateral who beat DD 1.5l. On her debut run Trilateral was 0.3l ahead of Belle On Ice with the latter, though on 2nd run, giving Trilateral 2.5kg. Evoke Emotion could be too good but this is a big drop in d and her last attempt at the d saw her take silver in not the strongest looking PE field. There are a couple of others in with a chance but, with current approx prices of 2 EE, 6/4 JT, 15/4 DD and 66 BOI the nutter thinks BOI is worth a nibble in the hope the 1600 is not too far and a return to early form is seen.

R4 I initially was with Bayern on No Reistance but that last run (with the Bass comments page down) is a big concern so instead looked for value. I do think Waterways could finally get it right today, has been running creditably from some very poor draws and in his runs 2 and 3 back has been very close to Arezzo and NR who are 1/10th of the price, though the latter has a much better draw now. Interestingly the blinkers are removed and if that results in an improvement, particularly at the start, then Waterways could well prove to be right there at the finish. A possibly "safer" option though could be the much lighter raced Bushfighter who was only about 2.5l behind Arezzo lto despite reportedly finishing lame, though I have no idea how much the lameness affected the run. Better off with the draw now and again at around 20/1 is worth a nibble imo.

Time getting a little short so...

R5 Wide open imo and I like the look of the bottom weights with Promising Polly the one I prefer from First Favour. Night Of Stars to be thereabouts and Arria will win imo if returning to early form. If the price on Queen's Music drifts then I will nibble.

R6 A stack of them are pretty closed matched on The Queen Vic winning run but I will go with Cosmonauta who shocked lto when beating TQV but her form was much better around this time last year and she is much better drawn than lto and 0.5kg better off with TQV despite the latter's appie claim here. Pistacchio and High Season also worth a mention in a field where it is hard to discount the vast majority.

R7 What A Mission is on 2nd run after a huge break but the return run was excellent considering and up to this trip looks to be a big runner with BFH up and a good draw.

R8 Ovidio makes plenty of appeal and Bono Vox likely to be in the vicinity but at the prices I'll chance Cherish The Moment. In truth I can't remember exactly why lol but something I saw made the 20/1 appealing

Be(s)t of luck to all
