This is like the chicken and the egg question..
Bookies used to love the thrill as well as the money
Now they just love the money..
guys like Victor Chandler and Fred Done who used to take a bet in the old days are now knocking guys back after 2 bets( even losers )

Just logged onto 888sport,it seems that having a nifty ew on Lupo Doro at 16s has broke the camels back.
Just tried to have a nifty ew on a 12/1 shot and they politely declined and offered me £0.75 ew.
Shit heads

imagine if it had won !
It time the english authorities did what the ausies did . If they wanna be bookmakers they must be obliged to lay a minimum of 2k per horse per client ! they a bunch of pussies ,the lot of them . Nowhere to get a decent sized bet on these days !

Solo it's been a master plan for years
They drove the real bookies out, the guys that would take a wedge on a horse
What they done was buy into the tv channels and broadcasters ( ring a bell )
Charge a gigantic fee 1800£ a month per shop ( but with discounts for big chains, tgem obv
Announce gigantic limits ( that no one ever wins )
So now the independents that would lay a bet are non existent and every manager in the land ( big firms ) has to phone all bets in Before excepting ( over £200 liability)
All the above is ofcourse cash bets
Now if you go read the racing post you will see an article about on course bookmakers being warned about price fixing.
Online they share info and details so winners are blocked from punting

I'm not planning to be an advocate for bookmakers but I would like to make this statement:
I have been a client for over 20 years of a prominent Cape Town bookmaker.
He lays me whatever I want whenever I want it. Period. Often when I suspect he would rather have laid me nothing at all!
If you are wondering 'But how much?' then I'll tell you - on two long term events for 2015 he has laid me multiples that could could win me R5 million. (Every year I adjust my betting to take account of inflation whereas most punters I know bet the same stake they started with.....)
The rules are simple - He pays if I win & I pay when I lose. It's not rocket science or high finance.
I really don't know where you all manage to find those outlets where you are limited or knocked back. Perhaps it's because you show no loyalty to one provider?
