Vaal tracks are....
10 years 4 months ago
A disgrace seemingly
Heard a few jocks mention their horse took false steps etc yesterday ( Gav definitely said in winning interview)
Then Tiger Quest later broke down , injuring the jock ( not sure if the horse is ok ? )
I'm hearing murmurs that the Vaal trainers are not happy with the track manager or one of the track managers, but are too scared to say anything!
Phumelela seemingly can't get rid for some reason

Apparently horses are getting hurt there cause track maintenance is ignored. My friend who trains at Vaal says the track manager doesn't even bother to come to track or check his tracks.

sadly tiger quest was put down...fractured left front sesamoids...what I find strange is the stipes are having an inquiry into its magic who was following tiger quest and had to take evasive action and switch inwards to avoid tiger quest

Its a crying shame that horses have to be put down because of holes on the track. The insurance companies wont take too kindly to that.

Isn't it cruelty to horses to force them to race on bad tracks ? And surely the Owners who have to pay are not happy?

Chicken costs to insure race horses very expensive in most cases.

We can all accept that accidents will happen in the best of circumstances, but if what we are reading here ,is true, then that is disgraceful!
Sorry to ask yet again ,but who manages(or doesn't) the track manager!

I hear that the track manager and course manager are managed by a senior manager from Turffontein. I hear that In a Rush broke down on the track and was put down there last week.
It sounds like Trainers were fighting about tracks for months and everyone was on leave and nothing was done. There was also a big argument in a meeting about tracks involving a senior, respected trainer.
I am quite new to racing, so don't understand all the jargon. My friend who talks to me is not training at Vaal anymore, but I will try and find out more details.
If what u have been told is true, then this is cruelty to horses.
