We need grandstands that only hold 2,000 people but made in such a way that it looks like 20,000 people.

Exactly my point. It seems to me the KZN boys can be a bit defensive WITHOUT reading what I have said.....
Take a pill boys
Gold Circle have long spent the cash and they will never admit that it was one of the biggest fuckups made.
What part of this statement did I miss??
Give everything but up!

Mac ,that's not so crazy!
Why have infrastructure to cater for people who aren't coming anyway?
The emphasis should be on new venues with multiple tracks, catering limited to the basics but excellent pictures to off- track venues and homes, and use temp structures and Marquees on the few big days when the crowds come to party............like they do at the Million Dollar golf!

Titch it seems that you will not or can not comprehend basic English.
In your own words you say the upgrades at Summerveld and Greyville "did not fall out of the sky". Whatever was spent on these refurbishments is gone. It no longer shows in the bank account. You can wish it well as you wave it goodbye.
So now we have rumours that Clairwood could be reacquired. By whom? It definitely will not be Gold Circle, we know that they do not have the money for this. Will it be purchased by some mystery benefactor? If this is the rumour why did this individual/group of individuals not do so when the place was on the market? It will cost a fortune to get the track back into shape.
We live in South Africa not a first world country. The group that purchased Clairwood will work their way around the "environmental" issues. Call me cynical but my take on this is that the people who grant the go ahead have not been looked after properly. Its a matter of time before this is sorted. You do not invest 400 plus million and get stopped because of some endangered frog.
