I first liked Africain to improve but I think that Big Shot will hold him again.

I think Big Shot will win with perhaps Africain filling the exacta.

Not that I can ever catch this yard right but if Sherman Brown is riding Paradis in the 2nd is this the stable elect?

Race 6 Bold Approach

Her last two runs on the Vaal Sand were good. In her penultimate start she beat Battle of Alma by 1.5 lengths over this c&d. In her her last run she was caught out of her ground at the halfway stage and she failed to quicken in the same manner. she did still run well to finish 4th behind Benbow. she is 0.5kg better off for that 1.3 length beating but BA is only a 3 year old and she has scope to improve.

Race 8 Qawaasem
She won her sand debut in imprressive style. She was never in doubt from the moment she switched on with about 600m to go an smashed Lady Casey by 4.5 lengths over 1200m. She has to carry 62kg this time but the benefit of draw 1 is likely to help heer a lot. follow her until she gets beaten especially on this surface.

Race 5 Nero
Could prove too good over 1600m. Nero is unbeaten on the sand in 2 starts and he should bee too good again.

Is the sand track okay?????????

Here is my Value Bet for the year.

Race 6 # 13 On This Rock. Won his only run at the Course well. Then followed that up with two good runs at Flaming Park when you consider the likes of Black Pepper ran behind him in both runs. These were both over the 1000m so don't see the minimum trip being a problem for him. He has then run some excellent races in Borrowdale earing him a Turf rating of 86. He is consistent never running out of the first 5 in his 15 runs and carry's only 53,5kgs. IMO if he had stayed here he would be running of a much higher rating that a 67 and I make him very very hard to beat today. The 6/1 a win and 14,4/10 a place look superb value.
