Titch you clearly do not have the capacity to think outside your very limited box and I will not bother trying to get you to expand your horizons in future. Afinal word. Where do you think BW is stealing from when they offer fixed odds on swingers trifectas quartets and exactas?

Rob, we all care about the things we love or value.
If there is no care i guess it's pretty self explanatory.
Then again if we have a business that makes money and one division consistently under perform, where would we be sticking our resources into?
Racing's years of chronic under performance has caused it to fall completely out of favour from an investment support perspective and even more so in terms of belief.
You wish that you could get a stint at turning service attitudes around just as I wish that I could be given a project to grow racing from the ground up.
I don't doubt that we would do a great job as we have a singular focus to address that which needs improvement for racing to prosper rather than living in denial whilst the quest for immediate turnover gains and profits totally dominate our decisions.
This is off course the reality of a listed business and Phumelela is doing a great job in all the important areas that drive growth and success of which racing is unfortunately very low down in the pecking order.
I would love to prove that racing is a sleeping giant and that it wouldn't take much to turn around by doing just a few things differently.
Once the spark lights the fire the operator will treat racing with a lot more respect and have a company running well on all cylinders.

Titch - it was not the open bet bookie who brought in the open bet. It was the punter, the Tote's very own customer, who asked the bookie to run that risk because the service from the tote was, and still is, so bad. Fix the service and you may, just may, fix the open bet.

Yeah right and another typical response is to go the insult route....FYI what i have forgotten about this industry you have still to grasp, I certainly do not need your limited advice to expand my horizons...

If it was indeed the customer and not the bookie why then did they offer a 5% incentive on tote payouts if the bets were taken with them and not the tote?? surely if there was demand then incentives were not needed...

A good q but all I can say is that the open bet bookies offer that 5% or so for the same reason why they market other promotional offers. The Tote offers zip. (Not quite, I did receive a free betting voucher - and a delicious ice cream - at a big meet, thank you Tote). Titch - get someone to fix the service. It will be a long road but it has to start somewhere. Why can't you be the ambassador?

This thread is becoming a bore
We all want the same thing ...proper service
Now because we have different views, we start insulting
Tich, with all your noble intentions,it is going to be difficult to change peoples ways and views
Like Rob,and myself i would say most punters are surely using the tote
And with good reason too
You HAVE TO USE THE TOTE as there is not a single bookie out there that can say
"WE GIVE YOU THE FULL PACKAGE,BET WITH US"
You jump from one bookie to the other for certain bets and they price up like shit
So unlike you,on this topic,i give up

I'm not trying to insult you are infuriatingly narrow minded when it comes to the tote.
I note no response to my question about BW offering any 2 of 2/ 2 of 3/ bets.....
As for having to grasp, I enjoyed the Carl Burger expose and am glad that I do not have the "expertise" you have in these areas. When it comes to racing and clean betting I doubt you could teach me much.

I was 17 at the time and make no apologies for my behavior back then when pure greed by certain folk lead to their demise, as for clean betting etc, once you believe that you have little to learn then your next lesson should be to rid yourself of that mind set, anyway to each their own, racing has been very good to me and continues to treat me well, but along the way I still continue to learn more about the different aspects and pitfalls that are rife in this wonderful industry and will continue to maintain the mind set where I am open to continue learning, when I believe that I have nothing more to learn will be the time I will walk away from racing...

What is amazing about Saftote is the issues never get resolved......it was pointed out a few weeks ago that there is an ongoing cover issue with the online Computaform.
Well they have used the same cover (with erroneous info) on both Monday's and Tuesday's issue, this week.
I know that there are posters involved ..................so is there a reason for this cos I'm dying to hear it?
Again ,this will be defended but isn't it just as easy to do things right?
