The other day I had to phone as Tab-online reflected, incorrectly, that another sand meeting had been moved to turf.
This morning ,when about to place my bets ,Tab-online reflects Fairview Poly..........OK so its been moved ,but not trusting their competence ,luckily I check..............sure enough it is still a turf meeting.
Phoned Tab-online customer care at 9:45 am,only to get a message that the service will only re-open at 9am (you figure FFS)
Eventually got hold of somebody who irritatingly told me it is a turf meeting!!!!!,to which I had to respond that I knew that  ......................it was what I was phoning to tell them..........eventually the light went on and they agreed to make the changes .............................this, guys, is the alternative service to the open bet......LOL :woohoo:

Yip............would make quite a big difference to draws in sprint legs of exotics so is quite important...........but you are so busy defending you go blind!

However,Titch, as you know bookmaker bets are confidential ,so can I challenge you to waive that and publicly, here, give permission for any bookmaker, that you support by taking the open bet, to declare that on this forum?

And what about the 'Commentary' lines (011 210 numbers), a money making racket due to the number of times that the line is either 'crossed' with another meeting or you get the 'results' of a UK race, eventhough I call the Dbn,Jhb or Cape Comm line??? Useless bunch

I have absolutely no problem with that at all, actually the fact that they discussed any aspect of my account with you is something i do take exception to and i must actually insist that you divulge who they are ..... However what got my interest up Rob is that after all the eventual's in your opening statement and the obvious need to make 2 calls after the first one was answered by a voice message it took you all of 11 minutes to get hold of them on the 2nd call explain the situation on multiple occasions etc etc etc terminate your call and post your complaint... so surely the call could not have been as long and tedious as you would have us believe...??

I have to ask a question Titch, in all seriousness.

I'm very aware of Phumelela and their operational setup as a family member built that place from the ground up......do you believe that the service and product they give today is commensurate of the industry and of such a quality that it can be a product that will build the industry for the future and taking racing forward?

Absolutely not..there are many things that need to be addressed and Im sure they will be but there is no way that the service is as bad as many choose to make it out to be... also the current shortfalls that they have namely the Telebet staff and attitude etc is not an "across the board" thing and is not a problem that one only encounters with the Tote facility it is sadly far more wide spread than that...

i agree, no way can we localize this issue to the tote but you would imagine that with the experience in this sphere and their resources that they could do a better job than what they are?
Also, where is the programs that thank (and keep) their most loyal customers? Where is the club card that gives them benefits for shunning the open bet and betting with them?

What exactly would you say is the biggest draw card that P has to make people bet with them?

I think that the draw card is mainly the critical mass that has been achieved with most pools.

This could however be substantially bigger and even more attractive by adding new punters into the mix. This is critical if you want to offer an attractive alternative to casino and lotto jackpots for especially potential new players.

I believe that a loyalty program could be a reality somewhere in future.

My argument exactly Chris...i have submitted some suggestions that I believe will get serious consideration..basically I believe that instead of spending money on getting "new blood" into the game who are invariably just there for the party and then disappear never to be seen again, the money would imo be better spent on the die hard customer who for years have supported racing and continue to do so day in and day out, that way the industry will not only retain the current client base but would make them more open to introducing new players to the game, a happy client is your best ambassador by a country mile..

But let's be fair, it shouldn't be a reality somewhere in the future, it should have been done many, many moons ago.
