I love Majmu, my problem with her is she has always had the pace to beat her opponents so far, never looked like she out stayed anyone, this is why i think she might struggle to go much further.. Of course she might just be a freak like !!!

PeterD wrote: WP, the problem with your analysis is that you ignore many factors.
Majmu will beat the boys at these weights. You rely on the Dingaans form- there was a cloudburst before that race, and the going was very awkward. Unparalleled handled it well; got first run and won well. He was unable to confirm next time with Harry's Son and French Navy. Sirens Call was without her regular jockey, was way too far back and only got going when the race was over. That run best ignored for her.
Majmu needed her last run, but still won easily. There is no reason why she should not improve on this effort next time out, and every reason to believe she will run up to her 114 rating. That's enough to win.
At 1600m Majmu is a few lengths better than the other 3yo fillies- and they are a damn good bunch! In my view she is at least as good as the very best of the 3yo colts, and probably better.
The only uncertainty is the impact of the extra distance.

All the best PeterD with your runner ;) We will have to wait and see how good MAJMU is, I won't have her at any price, good luck to those who have decided otherwise, hindsight might prevail once again...

RACE 1 : Scratchings *** LEEULOOP JET *** SHADOWOFHISSMILE Coming off a small rest, top weight, top jockey - VERDICT (QUARTET CHANCE AT BEST) THE HANGMAN better over the mile, very credible run last time out, can go close again, respect... - VERDICT (STRONG PLACE CHANCE) BROOKS-CLUB hasn't won for some time, distance suited but been amiss of late - VERDICT (PASS) MEISSA been in great form lately against slightly weaker, is returning after a rest and may just need this run, looks held on some earlier form - VERDICT (PASS) SOVEREIGN MINT 3rd run after a rest, showing signs of some earlier form and is pretty well in here, must have an obvious chance - VERDICT (STRONG WINNING CHANCE) THE CAPTAIN'S TUNE great draw, needs to find more - VERDICT (PASS) RUSHMORE RIVER is a massive contender here, good draw, good jockey and stable having a good patch at the moment, drop in trip will probably suite - VERDICT (WINNING CHANCE/EXACTA) EXELERO won impressively when thumping MR MULLINER, the mile should suite but runs in snatches and could find himself wanting against this bunch - VERDICT (TRIFECTA CHANCE) EMPEROR NIARCHOS needs a miracle - VERDICT (DON'T BE SILLY) BARACAH will probably need one more run, he has ability but like EN needs a small miracle to feature here - VERDICT (PASS)

RACE 1 SELECTIONS - SOVEREIGN MINT x RUSHMORE RIVER x THE HANGMAN x SHADOWOFHISSMILE

With all due respect champions day is all about the champions...so....MDK and Tarry to fight for the major prize money and I personally think MDK will have a field day.

One exception to the rule though...Van Zyl will win with Red carpet Captain and possibly Drier with Captain of all.

Best of luck to all.
