With Mourinho bitching about all sorts of things and telling Benitez wife to watch what she feeds him I think that he is rattled even before the season kicks off. This match in all intents and purposes is a friendly but because of how the two managers feel about each other it will not be a friendly. Arsenal have looked very good in their friendlies whereas Chelsea lost to the 2nd team of the New York Red Bulls. The season kicks off next week and whoever wins this match will have a boost but in the end it means nothing. Where you finish come May is all what counts.

There is a lot of rivlary in the Shield, the stadium is full, the fans have been starved of 1st class football - this annual event is a little more than a friendly.

Enjoy...what time is the match ? I'll probably watch a repeat as I'll be having my own kick-about in the park...

Arsenal have had the better pre-season and with a top goal-keeper they will be better than last season even if the back four are a bit dodgy...

You forgot to mention Chelsea beat Barcelona after the Red Bulls Game and Arsenal played all their pre season games at The Emirates to suck some more wonga from their librarian fans.

A millionaire from Nigeria has announced that he's interested in taking over Arsenal Football Club.Unfortunately, he has no way of getting his money to the UK,so he needs a few willing deluded Arsenal fans to email back with their sort code and account number.

I had no idea that Singapore was part of the Emirates. P lease enlighten me to when this occurred. Most Chelsea so called fans joined up in 2003 when the oil money man arrived

Looking at the line ups this is going to be no friendly. Costa appears to be injured with his hamstring. Cant see him starting for a few matches.

Arsenal looked sharp for 70 minutes then Chelsea came at them. Should be a great season with these two fighting it out for the title. The managers really don't like each other at all.

these were the two teams when they played
:
Courtois, Ivanovic (c), Zouma, Cahill, Azpilicueta, Fabregas, Matic, Kenedy, Oscar, Hazard, Diego Costa.
Barcelona:
Ter Stegen, Bartra, Douglas, Adriano, Mathieu, Busquets (c), Rakitic, Gumbau, Ramirez, Suarez, El Haddadi.
a vitually full strength Chelsea side and a Barce team without Messi, Neymar, Iniesta, Alves, Alba, Mascherano I would not see or say too much about beating them
