Not only are there nice fields in Jozi but also Cape Town whose card includes previously mentioned Act Of War and an Inara double.

ACT OF WAR is probably the better option for the season so that's why he's in Cape Town not Gauteng

Would have thought Ice Machine would be the top middle distance horse in the country this season..

Think it's too short for Ice Machine - for me Trip to Heaven with the benefit of a recent run the one to beat - Bouclette Top the danger

World Sports Betting, who came on board as sponsors of the recent Super
Supreme Series, have furthered their involvement in racing and will be
sponsoring this Saturday’s Gr 3 R400,000 Jo’Burg Spring Challenge and Gr 2
Jo’Burg Spring Fillies and Mares Challenge over 1450m.

World Sports Betting not only sponsored the first leg of the Super Supreme
Series, the Non-Black Type R135,000 World Sports Betting Sprint over 1000m,
but also offered a R500,000 bonus to any horse which could win all three
legs of the Super Supreme Series. When the World Sports Betting Sprint
winner Varbration was scratched from the second leg of the series, World
Sports Betting generously offered R100,000 to any horse which could win the
remaining two legs, the August Stakes and the Supreme Cup sponsored by SAP.

The Spring Challenge meeting is always looked forward to as it heralds the
beginning of the big turf events in Johannesburg’s Spring feature season.

The Spring Challenge sees the brilliant Charles Laird-trained Ice Machine
raiding from KZN, having failed by a hair’s breadth to beat the
subsequently-named Equus Horse Of The Year Futura in the Gr 1 Champions Cup
over 1800m at Greyville on Super Saturday. The evergreen seven-year-old
Silvano gelding faces a top class field, which includes the Gr 2 Peermont
Emperor’s Palace Charity Mile winner Bezanova, the Gr 2 Stronach Group
Racing Merchants winner Trip To Heaven, the twice Gr 2 Hawaii Stakes winner
Whiteline Fever, The Gr 2 IOS Drill Hall Stakes runner up Bouclette Top,
the former Gr 2 Colorado King Stakes winner Halve The Deficit, the Gr 3
Tommy Hotspur Handicap winner Moofeed, the former Gr 1 Premier’s Champion
Stakes third-placed Anjaal, the twice Listed winner Easy Lover, the Gr 2
Betting World Gauteng Guineas third-placed Forest Fox, and the ever
improving Light The Way.

The Spring Fillies and Mares Challenge has also attracted a strong field,
including the Gr 1 winner For The Lads, the Gr 3 winner Lazer Star, who has
won six out of seven sprint starts and failed narrowly to win a Gr 3 over
this trip, the twice Listed-sprint winner Sarve, the up-and-coming Duncan
Howells-trained four-year-old KZN raider Sabaha, the progressive
four-year-olds Alice Springs and Love To Sail, the still improving
five-year-old Featherfoot, and also the promising three-year-old Madame
Dubois, who finished third in the Gr 1 Allan Robertson Championships.

The City Deck Coffee Shop will be opening at Turffontein this Saturday.
Brewing coffee has become a fine art enjoyed by more and more youngsters,
so come and enjoy the freshly made coffees prepared by the Coffee Shop’s
professional baristas. There will also be fantastic food specials on offer
for under R50 per person.

There is great view of the racing from the City Deck, not to mention the
jovial and positive atmosphere that is always associated with sports
lovers.
