IMO with racing Silver Mountain can turn out to be better than Beach Beauty although its still early days...but wirh a turn of foot she has she has to be right up there for now.will be interesting if she runs with the colts.

any other opinions on this?

SM is the best filly to race in this country since Empress Club.

The best part this about filly is that she is trained by a stable who's horses just get better with age.

She will also have no problem going 2000m,which Beach Beauty never really got properly despite running well over the trip.

SM will win the colts Guineas on the 19th.

Drawn 2.

sm has a long long way to go before you can start comparing her to greats like igugu sun classique ipi tombi etc ..she is by far the best of the 3yo fillies crop who is the worst crop of 3yos iv seen in my time of racing..one has to look back on the 3 group 1 races for fillies held for 2yos namely the alan Robertson and the 1400m on july day and 1600m on gold cup day to see how poor this crop of fillies is...lets hope she turns out to be in the same class as ipi tombi sun classique and igugu who not only beat older fillies but beat colts and geldings when winning the july before winning at international level bar igugu...what I must add is the program in the cape is the best in the country whereby it allows the 3yo fillies to compete in both group 1 guineas and also allows the 3yo colts and fillies to take part in the queens plate over the same distance of a mile..it really pisses me off no end when you have fillies colts guineas on same day same as the oaks derby on same day and also the 4 sprints at pmb on the same day

Of course what you say is correct.

However, the beauty of this is making the statement BEFORE the horse achieves the above.

Beating older horses @ WFA is obviously key to assess where a horse fits in,but clearly this filly won't be running in the Paddock and Majorca as a result of the $1 million dollar race,so we will have to wait a little longer for that.

Yes it's always dangerous trying to highlight future champs as they still have to prove themselves however the bottom line is that it's always good for racing to have a talking horses ( especially when she certainly can run )

At the end of the day this filly beat Our Destiny into 2nd,a horse rated 80 coming into the fillies Guineas. That's hardly the greatest advertisement of the form, and I agree with Pirates that this crop of fillies is particularly weak.

However,I really feel that this is an exceptional horse.

Her temperament, breeding and who's she's trained by will stand her in very good stead in the months ahead, and as Dave says racing needs top horses.

Imo this filly looks very special indeed.

Agree........I was as impressed as everybody until I looked closely at the ratings of the placed runners behind her (I don't think she has been tested..........the classier fillies have not been at their best behind her)
She may well be as good as she appears but I do have a niggling question mark over the ratings ...............the guineas will be the clincher for me!

Rob, the last time when I mentioned that Alboran Sea beat Captain of All twice at WFA terms you stated because it got it weight allowance and sex allowance it was therefore handicapped. So if it runs with the best will this apply ? So basically 3yo fillies get discriminated to win any awards because of their sex and being a 3yo even if they beat the best!!!!

We clearly don't understand each other so lets leave it at that.
