.....gr8 segment re Cliffie Otto.....would not have recognised him if I bought bread at his bakery.....wish I had known where he was caus I have holidayed in his berg at least 5 times over the past few years.....hope someone gives him an in ......to get back in......this guy is truely a natural horseman .....and now in his golden years .....in a way he reminds me of Roy Unsworth....
BTW in the clip on the match race......notice how big the crowd was......couldnt get that many on a track today without having a race course rave after party and budget priced prawns.....

That was fun. I think I heard correctly that next week will be Muis on the show talking about his match race.

Loved the show, very candid!

I haven't seen the show but look forward to the replay. I was on course for the match race and echo what Muhti has to say, those were the days! A "normal" Saturday would bring in the region of 15000 paying punters but that day there were at least double that amount. The hype around that race was something to be believed and this is what is missing today. I note some digs at Azzie. This game would be in a far better place if we had 1000 more like him.

I can't get volume on the link but brings back memories and I was with the lads when Divine Act won the maiden by 15 lengths and the match race where Hans was lifted into the winners box really truly great days to remember.
Not sure what was said by Clffy but Roy and Hans both passed away and the other owner Alex was from Windhoek with Hans and not sure if he still lives there? It was his first and last share in a horse and Hans brother Louis is a very close friend of mine he had shares in all horses with Hans except Divine Act !!!
As they say that's racing, look forward to catching the show

There is some amazing shots of the crowd after the match race..
Very interesting that he seems very interested in returning to racing

It was the day Striker rode seven winners, including the P6
Boy on the Run
Dandyman
Mathematic
Haystack
Highland Gypsy
Straw Lining
Still have the "See how they run" video of the day.
