The forum needs a heading that states: NOT FOR SENSITIVE VIEWERS

Its not about NOT FOR SENSITIVE VIEWERS - you people make comments that make other people look bad - how would you like to be with your mother as she dies - think first people

Tashie,
this is very sad.
However, lots of people have sad days, and if this was the case Deon should have stood himself down for a few days.
What you fail to comprehend is that a jockey who is riding when he should not be is more than likely costing other people money if his mind/body is not right.
The extenuating circumstances were taken into account, and he was ONLY given a warning.

Tashie , please go find a website or publication that has posted or printed an explanation Re DEONS case like above.
The only one is abc
The heading was a play on words, riding horses is a serious game, the jocks are very brave blah blah..
But some of them break the rules and put punters money at risk, other riders, horses and theirselves at risk
Thats why they are found guilty of offences
Alchol --pissed
Speed --- buzzing
Tamezapan --- Chilled

Maybe if you did not notice he did get off his rides - his urine was tested a few days later when he was no longer taking the medication and it still showed up - had he know he had taken something he was not allowed to then he most certainly would not have - however, the course doctor on duty gave him the script after he was injured in the parade ring (and got off his mounts) and they are supposed to know what the jockeys can and cannot take

Hi all, I can personally vouch for Deon in this instance. In fact, after his second day on the meds, he stopped taking them as he was nauseas from the meds.
The meds were detected but that doesn't mean that he was still on the effects of the meds.

Guys, judging by the poster using the name 'Tashie' I am assuming its his wife Natasha. Clearly she was upset by the original naming of the thread which has been corrected.
I also believe her version of the events. Lets put this topic to bed.

No ,lets look at the real problem .....................it sounds like Deon was completely innocent in this case BUT it certainly appears (if the details posted are correct) that if he was prescribed meds, that would cause him to be transgressing the rules, by the OFFICIAL course doctor, any transgression lies with him/her!
So why is there no mention from our esteemed regulators in that regard..............don't tell me.......I'll have a guess ............the doctor ,although contracted to the operators, doesn't fall under the jurisdiction of the NHA ????!!!!!

I have to agree with Rob
Let the guy responsible be brought to book
Deon Sampson don't need to be under a cloud
Charge the course doctor if you employ him

.......................especially since the official verdict remains "guilty" (with mitigation)
Why should he carry that on his record? ,as, if he does ever transgress again ,nobody will remember it wasn't really his fault ..............it will be treated as a second offence.

People tend forget that the makn reason for any of these threads is not to embaress anyone but to protect us punters. All of these allegations whether true or not affect us punters in one way or another. Tashie takes a real strong woman to stand up for her man and my condolences go out to the Sampson family on their loss.
But noone takes the side of the punter!!
So we still lose our tom.
No punter no horseracing

Agree with Rob.
That is ridiculous that an on course doctor has prescribed banned drugs..
Of the three cases,he's has mitigating circumstances.
