And we wonder why we do our bollocks

INQUIRY – JOCKEY J MARIBA
The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Johannesburg on Wednesday 16 March 2016, Jockey J Mariba was charged with a contravention of Rules 77.1.1 and 77.2.1, in that he presented himself to ride at the Turffontein Racecourse on 30 January 2016 whilst having a banned substance, namely alcohol, with a concentration level of 0,057mg per 100ml which is over the concentration threshold of 0,024mg per 100ml in his breath.

Jockey Mariba pleaded guilty to the charge and was found guilty of the charge.

The Board after hearing all the evidence and factors presented by Mr Mariba in mitigation and also taking into account his clean record and that he is seeking the help of a sports psychologist, ruled that Mr Mariba be suspended from riding in races for a period of thirty days, fifteen days of which is wholly suspended for a period of twelve months on condition that he is not found guilty under these rules during that period.

Mr Mariba has the right of appeal against the penalty imposed.

INQUIRY – JOCKEY C A LITTLE

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held at its Head Office on 16 March 2016, Jockey C Little was charged with a contravention of Rules 77.1.1 read in conjunction with 77.2.3, in that a urine sample taken from him at the Turffontein Racecourse on 24 October 2015, disclosed upon analysis the presence of Methcathinone which is a banned substance in terms of the Rules of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa.

Jockey Little pleaded guilty to the charge and was found guilty of the charge.

The Board, after hearing the evidence and factors presented by Mr Little in mitigation and also taking into account that this is his first offence in terms of these Rules, ruled that Mr Little be suspended from riding in races for a period of ninety days, sixty days of which is wholly suspended for a period of twenty four months on condition that he is not found guilty of a contravention of Rule 77 that during that period.

Mr Little waived his right of appeal against the penalty imposed and has requested to take his suspension from 20 March 2016 to 18 April 2016 (both days inclusive).

INQUIRY – JOCKEY J SAMPSON

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held at its Head Office on 16 March 2016, Jockey J Sampson was charged with a contravention of Rules 77.1.1 and 77.2.9, in that a urine sample taken from him at the Vaal Racecourse on 26 November 2015, disclosed upon analysis the presence of Oxazepam and Temazepam which are banned substances in terms of the Rules of The National Horseracing Authority.

Jockey Sampson pleaded guilty to and was found guilty of the charge.

The Board considered the evidence and extensive mitigating factors presented by Mr Sampson and imposed a penalty of a Warning.

Not funny guys, we get treated like pish by the racing community , as soon as a punter asks for a tip or moans about a ride they are on us like pack of fuckwits

What these donuts forget is there is more punters that are owners than there are owners that are not punters FACT!

And the rest of their wages are made up from punters that can't afford to own because of drunk trainers :)

He`s probably pleaded guilty to the charge, because he was positive

His complaint is that it was Dr Mcreedy that gave him the script

FYI it was the same week a family member died, he had a neck spasm and was prescribed pain killers and a sleeping tablet

the urine test was a few days later

Thank you for the comments but please rather find out the reasons before passing comment (pissed - buzzing and chilled). Jockey Sampson had a family bereavement and he had hurt his neck in the parade ring from a horse all in a period of a few days. He was given a script from the course doctor. You cant plead not guilty if it is in your system and that is why he plead guilty. Please think before you comment as your smirky comments are not needed
