Kenilworth Saturday

Sorry if this is too early but I have to get on Our Mate Art in the Langerman. Was so impressed with his debut win, form very strong as Lord Balmoral 2nd came out and won with ease. As green as grass last time out and ran on powerfully again. Clearly didn't know what to do but from my eye, he's got a lot of raw ability. Highly thought of by the stable and will relish the trip, huge runner.
Took 19/10 as I don't know if he'll drift or shorten.

Agreed...lots to like about the youngster. 19/10 is good odds if you got it. There's the small matter of some sticky going to be considered though... however strongz!

Race 1: We have Twenty Four Carat in this small work riders race. He is fit and well, and the drop back to 1200m should not be a problem. The horse to beat is the 2yo Captainblackbeard and I am surprised he is not outright favourite. He finished close up behind Langerman entrant Newlands last time. Show Stealer ran a fair third in a weak field on Tuesday- he is consistent and should again be involved in the finish. Cautiontothewind is inconsistent, but has the ability to win at best.
Race 2: Whispering Light is the selection after her good debut. Harakiri and Moulina have fair form. The race is complicated by some nicely bred unraced fillies.
Race 3: Weak field and anything is possible.
Race 4:Nordic Breeze is the best filly in the race, but gives too much weight away. Mike Bass has a strong hand here, and Felicity Flyer and Whose that Girl are selected to fight it out with Captain Gambler.

Race 5: Some very smart colts contest this. Our Mate Art was fancied last time, and should enjoy the extra ground. He is a narrow selection to beat Table Bay. A tricky contest with lightly raced improvers going he trip for the first time.
Race 6: Chevauchee is surprisingly short in the betting in a very open race, although she should relish the step up in trip. Acrostar is well in at the weights at best and is my selection to win.
Race 7:Goodtime Gal tries the trip for the first time - if she stays then she should win this. She has been very consistent, but has to overcome a wide draw. Jetano is improving fast and will enjoy the trip and is second choice. Inanna has solid form.
Race 8: Whisky Baron has chased Marinaresco home in the first two legs, and should go one better here. Jet Air is the main danger. Eighth Wonder has plenty of talent - if he can learn to settle he will be a threat. Captain Splendid and Elusive Silver have run well over the trip.

Race 9: We have Blarney Bay back over his favourite course and distance. From a good draw he is a big runner. He ran below expectations last time, but is working well and that run is best ignored. I fancy him to win.
Silicone Valley won well last time, but has been handed a 7 point penalty. He should be competitive again, but will find Spirit of Hamilton and Ashton Park tough competition at the weights. Midnite Zone is an improving sort and must be respected. Krambambuli was outclassed in the Met, and will probably need this run, has a wide draw, but is well in at the weights.
