I haven't read a single defense or apologist comment for Smanga. Seems everyone is unanimous in finding his ride extremely unprofessional. It is alleged that he was shouting at his mount at the closing stages. Body language tells a different story. A sad demise.

I watched both live and must say this. The Striker incident was an absolute howler. Like the worst own goal or dropped catch.

Khumalo was something else altogether. So much worse.

You mean he obviously had in interest in the favourite winning?

I can't say that because surely when there's that kind of foul play the jockeys don't hit the front and show boat then pull a horse. It just all seems to crazy to me.

Blokes are pretty vociferous around this ride... And I do understand why. But this happens EVERY day but mostly as it is not for first place we just ignore. How many times have you had a fixed place bet, or for your exotics when you see the jock stop riding cos he cannot win???

We are ranting about a symptom here. The root cause needs to be identified and erradicated. And in my opinion that is LACK OF EFFECTIVE POLICING

My view is that Mr Khumalo should be suspended with immediate effect pending the outcome of the investigation.A top jockey who has done well for his stable .Let him present his case and let the authorities make the decision But for me suspension with immediate effect.
