The question to ask, is what will stop this behavior. Bling is not the only jockey. Striker was caught red handed. There are many other incidents eg. when a jockey holds up his horse far too long and loses by a nose. I've seen plenty of similar incidents. Punitive measure is all about correcting the behavior. Fines don't work. Jockeys must do time - take away their capacity to earn by banning them for significant periods. That's when they will take the punter's seriously.

Here's a comment from Jonathan Snaith regarding the axeing of Bling......

“We cannot be associated with any form of unprofessionalism, and while we realise that the disciplinary processes must still run their course, we owe it to our patrons and the racing public to ensure our horses perform on their best merit and ability,” said Jono Snaith

That is sure to get Bling thinking hard.

I think if it was a jockey on the horse he was teasing that could give him a clap in the jockey room he would not have done that, only because it's one of his pals that he did that to.

What about them waiting until after the meeting to examine the horse ?

Horses can fix themselves from being lame quite quickly :)
