He must be a broken/broke man by now?
However bad he was it now pales in comparison to the youngster in Cape Town who is the suspect in the triple axe killing of mother and father and brother with a 4.5 kg axe.
His young sister survived after serious head injury and the whole case is not so high profile like Pistorius.
Suppose he was a celebrity.( Oscar).

So do I, read a case the other day when a serial offender got 15 years for robbery( with out violence )! Not saying he didn't deserve 15 years, but wtf 6 years for murder

This somehow smells of a "up yours " reaction by the judge .
The appeals court said her interpretation of the law was completely wrong, and the response is, "Fine,I will again sentence him as if it was culpable homicide anyway ............and just add the year already done,to acknowledge the appeal court!!!!!!

The state surely has to appeal this sentence now too?

100 % agree
If you want trust, trust others. If you want respect, respect others. If you want love and peace in your life, give them away. If you want great friends, be one

Although we might all be disappointed, myself included, we should not forget that jail time is not just about punishment but also supposedly about rehabilitation.

Is he a threat to society, probably not
Will he do this again, hard to say definitively, but again probably not.

He will forever carry the tag of shame wherever he goes and woman won't trust him and the public will mostly resent him.

He won't feel welcome in most places that he will visit and he will most likely be forever ruined financially and in terms of his talent which will be all but lost since he will be behind bars during the last few years of prime athlete conditioning.

He might not show remorse but he is a broken human being and will probably be a prime candidate for suicide at some point.

Does he deserve this, definitely, but the whole case was circumstantial as the evidence with regards to intent was rather thin. Did he intend to kill the person behind the door, guaranteed, but can we prove that he knew it was Reeva. It's speculation at best even though it might be 100% assumed from his bad stint as a witness and his gun happy behaviour, its still only an assumption.

Is this light for murder, absolutely, but he is a very unlikely repeat offender and if this was driven by genuine fear, is a very long time to spend in jail.

Right or wrong, justice has been served and I for one will let it rest.

Messi 21 months for tax fraud too but won't see a day in prison. It pays to have money and a good lawyer.
