Depositing with online bookies/3rd party payments
8 years 11 months ago
I have a close friend who bets online with one of the advertisers. I have frequently deposited money into his account as he has done for me on many occasions. Now I hear that if you do this the bookmaker is entitled to confiscate all winnings.
Last week I deposited close on R50000 into his account and lost. Now if I win I might not get paid. This seems so unfair. It's one way traffic.
Has anyone else made a 3rd party payment and how would you feel if the bookmaker refused to pay? I know it gets a mention in the terms and conditions but this is a real kick in the teeth.

I had mine closed in 2011. I think I won 5k !!!
My point is that if I have lost 50k and now win back 20k I ain't going to get paid. That can't be right. I know tons of people who pay into others accounts and they need to be made aware. It's theft.

To have your account closed over 5k seems ridiculous...

Interesting topic. I did read this in the terms however surely as you say if you had to win and they decline payment then surely they should also return the deposited funds.
Why the double standards?

It's an instant eft which is a guaranteed payment.

I am assuming the bookmaker has not advised of the above however you are merely just checking in the lucky change when you do start winning correct.
Is it at possible to ask the bookmaker directly? (Prior to any winnings)

They are refusing to pay a customer 17k based on a 3rd party payment of R1600

This is theft
'Putting it in their T's & C's does not make theft legal
This can be only one bookie - they steal everywhere - reneging on paying bets etc.with weird excuses. They also have some weird influence with the gauteng gambling board - try and get them to rule on something - simply impossible

We are told to "bet with the best". The stories are horrific. We need all those who have been ripped off to share the story.

Raceover are you in the bookmaking trade? My take on it is simple - the bookmaker is LEGALLY within his rights to refuse to pay. What is the point of limiting problematic punters ie. those that win, if they get someone else to get on, on their behalf.
