JOE SOMA:
Race 2 No (
DEVADIP: He is a very nice horse but will have a bad draw to overcome. One never knows how green these first timers will be but I am nevertheless expecting him to finish in the first four.
GEOFF WOODRUFF:
Race 2 No (9) PRIVATE SWAROVSKI and No (11) SINGAPORE SLING: They are both nice horses with Singapore Sling being the more forward of the two and I am expecting them to be concerned in the placings.
GARY ALEXANDER:
Race 3 No (3) AFRICAN RHUMBA and No (9) SEEKING GOLD: They are both looking for further and will be green. They have place chances at best.
DAVID NIEUWENHUIZEN:
Race 3 No (4) DELIGHTFUL DANCER: She is a nice filly but is still way off full maturity. She shows nice work but does still need to strengthen, in saying that, I am expecting a big run and she should go close.
CORNE SPIES:
Race 3 No (5) GOLDEN ROAD and No (7) MISS ZENOBIA: They should both be very green and need much further but they need to start racing. I am not expecting much from either of them today.Horse Racing

Thanks for the comments Bob - any comments from the Soma stable on Fortissima - the way the card has been structured, she looks about the only possible banker in the P6 - but my guess is she is not 100% ready yet... coupled with that big weight .....

Flaming Spirit in the last? Maybe you can share those 'endless reasons' - the only reason I can maybe see is that her MR has come down 13 points since January - but imo she will need a miracle to feature on her form this season....
On a card not much easier than the one last Saturday, I think I have found a sneaker....Tricia du Pont is best over this trip - gets a whole heap of weight from the favorite - maybe LG can give us a hint as to her well-being, but I think at around 15/1 she represents good value.
Enjoy

@Frodo...
Most obvious reasons...
-Gavin has ridden her 3 times...2 wins and a very close 2nd.
-Having a 3rd run after a rest...has only had this cycle 2* before won once at 33/1 and ran 6th over a too short a distance
-1 of those wins came over this CD making him 1 of only 2 to have won over CD.
all of his last starts the horse have been ridden wrongly...too close to the pace where if you watch the 3 runs Gavin rode on her,it was all relaxed rides, biding his time, settling where the horse was relaxed.
-like you said she has dropped in the MRs.
-The pace of today's race should suite aswell.
-Also,those who she beat in those races she won, have on gone on to become 'decent' battlers.
Doesn't matter if the horse is a champion,if ridden wrongly he will not respond! Horseracing is not won on mere form alone coz if it was true we would all be rich men. But with the reasoning above I have tipped many a confident longshots in the past, even thou not so confident on this 1 I do believe the signs are there for her to be competitive.
