Durbanville Wednesday 5/10/16

Really excited to see Craven tomorrow. Looks an absolute machine. Made a very impressive debut in my eye over the 1400(given a very soft ride, just to show him the ropes) and will love every inch of the 1600. He'll win tomorrow. I think he could be a guineas/derby horse. Obviously not a backable price tomorrow but this one could make its presence felt in a few of the coming features.
Maybe a Victoria College x Craven double.

A tricky card and further complicated by the somewhat (in my opinion) odd jockey bookings e.g. Fortune riding for Crawford and Offer riding for Sands in the same race, likewise, Zechner riding for Snaith and Fourie riding for Robinson, etc. For me it muddies the already muddied waters.
One I'm hoping puts up a bold showing is Mega Secret in the 5th (6 - 7/1 depending where you shop). Think he has a bit going for him. Returns from a 3.5 month break and his merit rating is dropped 4 points. Had it not been dropped, he would have to carry 58.5kgs, two more than he does. He appears to race fairly handy, however they have fitted him with blinkers. From gate two, he is either going to give this field a galloping lesson or try and give them a galloping lesson and fall in a hole with 100m to go, hopefully the former. Finally, he has been in the betting in his last 5 outings, we can only assume he shows them some promise back home.
Good punting.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

I feel that CBR stable has hit a lull before the storm breaks. Their horses seem to be running flat and that is one reason I want to stay away from Tin Soldier
(this has been given as their tip of the week) and want to stick with Gyre.

Craven must be one of the best looking horses I have seen in many a year. I also thought Greg gave him a soft ride first time out which is understandable.
