LOUIS GOOSEN
Race 1 – GRATUITY (6): No comment.

MATTHEW DE KOCK FOR MIKE DE KOCK

Race 3 – AHORSE WITH NONAME (9): Trainer could not be contacted for comment.Horse Racing

JOHAN JANSE VAN VUUREN
No comment for any of his first timers.

LUCKY HOUDALAKIS
No comment for any of his first timers.

GEOFF WOODRUFF
Race 2 – BOILING POINT (6): Is a half brother to Caymen Sunset and will need ground. I am using this sprint for him to get racing and get experience.

ST JOHN GRAY
Race 2 – THE FALLS ROAD (12): Having first run and will probably need it.

STANLEY FERREIRA
No comment for any of his first timers.Horse Racing

SPIKE LERENA
Race 3 – YOUNG EAGLE (14): A big colt with a big stride – he will need the run for the experience. I am not expecting him to win but he is the deceiving type of horse that could well surprise. I also do feel it is a bit sharp for him.

They can't be blamed. I got told a story that one of the bigger stables that no longer comments, was phoned on the THURSDAY before a Saturday meeting. This stable had four or five runners but were really bullish on one. Needless to say, the one that was fancied got fired, and "it was not stable money" for once!

I thought so too..... BUT ... I am not sure if only perception but I do not think Striker has ridden many winners for Woodruff....Okay, went to the reliable Winning Form to discover he has a 21% strike rate for wins and 50% for places.

Woodruff G V Strydom P 24 5 4 3 21 50

I always include him when he rides a Scott Kenny horse. I took a few yankees and patents around most of his rides today

I know it doesn't affect todays race(except as a guide)but I'm trying to understand reducing Samurai Blade by 5 pounds after it's last win!!
Surely this is a case where pure arithmetic shouldn't have been applied .....the horse won easily and who knows what it could have run to, if necessary.

Just guessing the drop had already been made and not implemented? And the run changed nothing ? Baffled tbh

Very unlucky Chook.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
