Well done Barry. Between the prizemoney and Punt a fair chunk back I dare say.

FYI, in this particular colt, I made my biggest perfonal financial investment since Irridescence. I didn't need to punt!

Thanks for the well wishes.

Russian Sage is a colt I have always liked and The Snaiths have a lot of confidence in him, which inspires me to have a lot, too.

I never for one moment believed the Johannesburg form was better than the Cape Town form, even though the handicapper had them separated by 6 pounds. I never thought King's Gambit could beat Russian Sage. Obviously, I could have bought either one of them, and I went for the Daily News 2000 victor.

Several people that I would have figured would have wanted to participate in the partnership that will campaign the colt decided not to join in based on the lousy Cape Derby form.

One final note, for the irrepressible Marlon Aronstam--it is not nice to stir the pot when somebody is trying to complete a transaction to buy a horse as you did with Russian Sage.

You should know by now that a lot goes into completing a sale and, until all of the pieces of the puzzle have been fit together, there is not deal. Just look at all of machinations that went on with King's Gambit last week.

We did not even obtain a negative piro result until after the banks had closed on Friday evening.

If trying to impress readers of the ABC boards that you are all-seeing, all-knowing means more to you than acting like a professional, then continue with your recent childish behavior.

But if you want some respect and people to take you serious, then spruce up your act.

Congrats Barry - I wasn't questioning your investment or need to punt to get anything back.

I wish you well in RS future exploits, and will watch him race if he makes it over to the UK.

Cheers, Jim.

Mazeltov Barry,

Russian Sage is a tough son of a gun thats for sure. Hopefully those twits at Tabgold have the competence to put the replay on their website.

I look forward to reading Marlons response to that one!

Whilst I often don't agree with Marlons methods and views he is entertaining and I think his contribution to the forum is overall positive. I think he is a bull in a china shop at times and just wants a reaction out of people.

Just out of interest Barry, how do u think Marlon knew about it? Surely u should be more pissed off with the fact that anyone not party to the deal found out in the 1st place. I think most of the blame lies with the snitch/leak that told him...

Not trying to defend Marlons rumour spreading. No justification for repeating hearsay.

Forgot to ask, does Russian Sage get penalised for his win with extra weight in the July?

I don't think he was referring to people on this forum being weeds in the garden, at least not in this instance! I think its some of the racing people who he was dealing with in purchasing Russian Sage who have big mouths, so I reckon he was referring to them.

Could be wrong...
