Nobody can answer me on my question.
How many bookmakers are there in the RSA.
What turnover do they generate combined say on a maiden race at Gauteng, Kwazulu Natal,Western Cape, Easter Cape and Kimberley.
What is their turnover pro rata to our totes win place pools.
Just answer my Quistions. Ful stop.

Just about BETFAIR before everyone starts asking the same questions answered a million times before....
the 'problem' with BETFAIR is simply this, anyone on BETFAIR can lay a bet, and in SA the law reads that only a licenced bookmaker, with all the statutory computer systems, registered tax position and guarentees held by the gambling board can lay bets to other South Africans.
Change the law, and BETFAIR can run.
I do believe that you guys, the members of GC and P and the officials you elected to represent you (and ofcourse the Bookmaking Assoc) are the biggest major block to BETFAIR every step of the way, rather than the delegation who represented the ANC.

Laws are constantly changed to enhance trade,if they make sense, and Betfair is a far more free and fair market than the price fixing that bookmaker prices are based on.
why the desire to protect a portion of an industry that is not seen to contribute to that industry.
I don't think the purpose of the programme is to explain the present, but to improve the future!

i'd like to know why the staff at bookmakers are better trained than the tote - the service is dimal - i've just been informed that a Phumelela winning cheque has been RD in my account because of a signature problem (i sometimes have to take cheques back twice because of basic errors)- Why do bookmakers treat punters like clients while the Tote treats us like mugs

Phumelela should spend some money and institute a proper training programme for its tote staff, which they should update and monitor.
Mind you they have some higher profile staff who need help as well ... lol !

Yes, bookmakers should be prohibited from taking PA's and Pick 6, and Phumelela/GC should upgrade their tote facilities at the same time.

Dont forget 'You be the Judge' (2), (sponsored by Emerald Casino), tonight at 19.30 on Tellytrack.
Bookmakers v The Tote.
Looking forward to some of the good clan questions, amongst others, being debated.
