The tote made a mistake but the announcement was an even bigger error ....Tellytrack have no authority to declare an entire race null and void, only the products that the companies in their group provide!(including products of BETTINGWORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
These type of episodes certainly bring racing into disrepute so the regulators should be investigating the circumstances that continually cause these errors and misunderstandings but ....oops its their own lord and masters!

Most bookmakers on their website state that all Open Bets are paid according to Saftote dividends subject to limits if any. If Saftote declares no dividend but a refund, the bookmakers will do the same.

Rob, couple weeks back a person posted that a bookmaker paid him the incorrect payout and people had a go at him because there was a deduction in the race. Punters up till today still do not know the difference between a Tote and Bookmaker and all the rules that come with it. It's not that he was trying to say that the bookmaker robbed him he was just ignorant to the fact there was a deduction therefore uneducated in the in and outs of wagering. It's the same principle here. Tellytrack announced the race was null and void due to a Tote malfunction, I can't go claim a refund when the rules of the board says different. The board rules will supercede all announcements as it is law. We can't let our emotions run towards the operator and make a bias decision, it will make us ignorant as the rules are there to see...

pros and cons with bookies and tote, the biggest pro with bookies is you can choose which one to bet with, hence why you hear of bookies PR/CS being on a different level to the totes

Naresh I don't disagree with anything you say!
However ,bearing in mind that both errors were by employees of "P", who own Bettingworld,I would ask you whether you see their position as identical as that of an independant bookmaker,if nothing else but morally?
(perhaps my involvement in liabilty claims, over the years is influencing me too much - the erroneous actions of an employee ,whilst acting in the scope of his/her employment,is the actions of the company/group....and a presenter, who whilst presenting, declares a race null and void, certainly qualifies.)
But whatever,lets move on ...
