What next, will you guys take the nhra to a hgher court to clear your name?
That I'm afraid is the problem with Racing Journalists... They should be the ones that call trainers and stipes and and give background to the story rather than just printing a press release... In my days at Racing Digest I attended a few inquiries ... I also went to a magistrate court for a case involving a trainer... that was the norm in those days... now its just copy paste(or don't print if the story can damage racing) - I exclude Sporting Post as they do dig but that digging is regarded as an attack on Racing instead of good journalism by the establishment ... With racing falling out of the general media limelight the rug has gotten very big and the broom even bigger!

NHRA press release
I know that Bob, what I mean to say is we used to get those from the then Jockey Club. We would then call trainer or stipe etc to enhance and complete the story. I remember I had to call the late Christie Blom when he was fined for cheating on the scales I think at Kimberley(he was lifted off the scales by two jocks that flanked him) - He gave me his version, he was battling with weight etc but it added to the story and readers could relate as he showed remorse etc... We were told never to just print a Jockey Club Release without getting comment if possible.

I have just read some of the responses to this thread and must admit to being utterly appalled at how this matter has been handled by the Jockey Club. As Bob posts earlier, how else must one react to a press release from the Jockey Club? It is my opinion that this organisation has failed trainer Denysschen by failing to tell the WHOLE story. They are quite happy to tarnish his reputation by declaring 5 positives for all to see, and getting the responses ( mine included ), that are damning of trainer Denysschen from the racing public.
The responses from any level headed individual would have varied dramatically if they had included the contaminated food part of the story. It makes me think that the Jockey Club are more interested in punishing people and fining them, than letting the truth come to light. There is an absolute material difference between doping and unknowingly feeding contaminated food to horses. The Jockey Club have been mischievious in their handling of this case, and in my opinion, have destroyed a mans reputation in the process. It is hardly the actions of a controlling body that have been tasked to protect the integrity of horse racing.
I apologise unreservedly to trainer Denysschen for my previous comments.

Agree OTA and maybe a bit clarification to SP would also help the bad press

8 years 4 months agoI don't believe caffeine made any difference in their performance.Dean321 wrote: Pardon my ignorance. To me something does not seem right and would love to hear the trainers version here.
It just seems suicide for him to have purposely put the above ingredient in all those horses.

The only one who speaks any sense or has made a logical comment is Dean321.
Most disappointing Bob is some of your comments directed directly at the trainer such as ban him when you profess to have in depth knowledge of the racing industry but are actually showing your complete ignorance of the scenario and not taking any time to think about this logically
As Dean321 has said does anyone really believe that a trainer in his right mind would purposely give horses caffeine all in this limited period of time. As stated it would be suicide. There is absolutely no evidence of caffeine having any performance enhancing attributes on a racehorse especially in such small quantities so why would a trainer even bother doing it.
All the conspiracy theorists can believe what they like but the fact is that there was a contamination of the horse feed which comes from one specific supplier who I will not name. The authorities have done random out of racing testing of some other trainers using the same feed supplier and they got positive results for caffeine as well. What will happen as a result of that I cant say as its in the authorities hands. The feed supplier is aware of the problem but ultimately its not their issue as the trainer is deemed the one responsible for the horses care even if they are totally unaware that this banned substance was in the food source that they trusted.
You would have thought that the authorities may have taken these circumstances into account but clearly they happy to perform witch hunts on soft targets in the name of doing their jobs when there are in fact far more serious offences taking place.
Its fully accepted that Caffeine is a banned substance under NHRA rules which is understandable but it has in no way been purposely administered or done with sinister intent.
Is the trainer guilty of training the horses that tested positive for caffeine, the answer is obviously YES
Is the trainer guilty of purposefully administering the substance with sinister intent, the answer is unequivocally NO !
I am one of the registered owners of two of the horses found positive and can categorically state there was nothing untoward that took place here. There was no big betting moves or any large stakes wagered so nothing points towards any unlawful gain. I am giving the facts, whether all the mudslingers who hide behind pseudonyms choose to believe them or not is entirely their choice
This is just a very unfortunate situation which has unfairly landed in the lap of of upstanding and honest trainer.
His 6 winners do they include these 5 wins above?

....glad that clears that up.....when I first read this.... that a relatively small string had so many positives I thought that no one could be that obtuse to try something like this intentionally....was not thinking of Starbucks.....but Red Bull gives them wings.....the horse feed manufacturer must have a side line energy drinks business or this new caffeine craze in hair shampoo....
