Yes , I agree no one is guilty until proven in a court of law , but this a ground breaking story that may /may not have a ripple effect in the horse racing industry . All they should do is post the article and acknowledge the source" in this case the Citizen" Remember the Citizen is very well known for its horse racing supplement published every 3 days.

I agree , that might mean www.netwerk24.com/Nuus/Hof/oud-telkom-ma...ring-r500-m-20170214 is false news or what ? There was a court there was an order by the courts .
It may not be Horse Racing news , but when a man spends the amount he did surely a small article would make sense . When Larry hit the Punter that had noting to do with Horse Racing , why was there major articles in there.
Something is up , I smell a rat.

.....when Larry klapped a punter it had everything to do with racing.....he was wearing a badge that said" RACING ASSOCIATION".....and the regular cotton eye joe.....in doling out stakes money when asked by the big boys.....but yes there may be a big stinking rat....but a few greased palms may take care of that.....

Yes Sorry you are all right . I think after giving this some thought, there is no need for SP to get involved . The Man was in racing , he is now out of racing . Bottom Line . It makes sense not to splash out on something such as the allegations.
Appologuise and thank you for the input. Makes sense .

Look punters deserve to know why he left the industry --- His runners were a fav in the totes.
Personally I think the less publicity he receives in the General Media re Racing the better... His approach to buying(his first purchases at a sale where he thought he could just take them home and train them himself) and owning can only harm Racing. Any new owners that get involved and behave the way he did have no place in Racing.. Forcing a trainer to run in the July, jocking off Karl, walking around sales rooms and just buying any horses his entourage liked... his social media antics and that of his wife , blaming courses for an overaced horse etc... Owning can be rewarding but you need to do your homework and respect your trainer and your horses- enjoy winning but also understand that you'll be losing more than winning ... Actually he could be a case study for what NOT to do as a new owner.

We are punters but above that we are taxpayers. The alleged crimes concern a state owned entity. It therefore makes sense to inform the racing fraternity. IMO a racing publication should at least mention the court order against a former prominent owner who recently won the triple crown.

Why don't we have investigative journalism into racing? ?
everything that happens is usually hush hush and never straight to the point. .
Any big news in racing e.g. jockey / trainer split owner / trainer split is hardly or never written in the press.
Are the sportingpost etc too shy/ scared to publish stuff??
Or do they feel that by publishing articles they fear the threat of bringing racing into disrepute. .the famous last words...

If half the things that go on hit the papers I think racing would be more popular

How do u bring new people into racing? ??
You first take care of those that are in it. ..

we are not allowed to even voice our opinion here in North Korea . Well done you hit it on the head. Its unbelievable the more they mess up the more we are surpressed. Lets put it that way. How are we ever going to improve on our mistakes. No chance .
