Race 2 - Green Plains 28/10
Honestly expected to see this filly at a very restricted price on her next start considering she was so impressive first time out. 2nd placed Sandalwood hasn't done the form favours but I think Green Plains hadn't got out of 2nd gear there. Don't think the extra 200 will pose a problem. All the support looks to be for Best Kept Secret who's outstandingly bred but I'm more than happy to back Green Plains at her current price. Should have come on from that first run too and I think she'll go pretty close should the first timer not be special.

She beat you and me first time out. Has to give De Kocks 5 bar filly 3kg's. Good luck

All 3 full siblings of BKS have won first time out, two went on to win Grade 1s and the other seemingly retired after one run, in her maiden win though she had De Kock back in 2nd. Not sure I would back her at the price now but I definitely won't be backing against her.
Good luck with Green Plains though MOMF, no guarantees re BKS after all.

A 5,2 million rand first timer plus a Goosen baby being backed in the same race and not one single shred of info for the public on any site.

Tough looking card imo ....not sure that the 2nd is cut and dried between the de Kock 'piece of gold' and the Tarry filly - Outlander won very impressively, who knows how good Daring Diva is and Sandalwood can easily turn the tables on Green Plains at the weights ...
In the 4th I think Ordained will put up a much better performance back down the straight and must be included in everything; in the 5th Kahlua Rose looks a worthy favorite with Matilda's Daughter a danger imo; it gets progressively tougher from there, for me I think Dragoon in the last looks fair value in a very competitive race where most must have some chance ....
I am taking a chance for interest with the following BP (R116 for 10%):
1,2,3,5
5,6,7
1,2
6,8
1,5,8
1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
Enjoy

First-timer comments: Vaal Thursday
FEBRUARY 9, 2017
MATTHEW DE KOCK FOR MIKE DE KOCK: Race 2 – BEST KEPT SECRET (5): She is a small but forward filly. She cannot afford to be too green against winners. If she is not too lost, she should be in the money.
DIANNE STENGER: Race 2 – GLENCASSLEY (6): She is a nice horse and I am putting her in the deep end to see what we have got.
LOUIS GOOSEN: No comment.
ROMEO FRANCIS: Race 2 – ROYAL WARRANT (9): She is a nice filly but I think she will need the run.
I'm more confused after comments...

DIAMOND NOIR :woohoo: made up a lot of ground on its last run 1st run over the 1000 she finished a distance away then she ran 1200meters on her second run and finished only 7.10 lengths behind the winner!! Looks like a GOOD E/W in race one
